In this thread, post links and pictures of new drivers that will hit retail.  I'm hoping we can stir up some debate into who's going to have the best driver for the 2013 golf season?

No picture....but Callaway says they have the longest Driver in Golf for 2013....Razr Fit extreme maybe? Black head with black face?

In my  bag:

Driver, Callaway Diablo Edge Tour 9.5 stiff

3, 5 woods: Callaway Diablo Edge Tour 15,18 degrees Stiff

2 hybrid: Callaway Diable Edge Tour 18 degrees R (out when the 5 wood is in)

3,6 hybrids: Callaway Diablo Edge 21 S and 30 degrees R

4,5 hybrids: Callaway Razr X HL 24 and 27 degrees Stiff

7-AW irons: Callaway Razr HL graphite R shafts

SW 54 Callaway X Series Jaws CC Slate Fujikura Graphite Stiff

Putter: Odessey White Ice 1 Blade Putter.

Ball...looking for any ball that hates water, sand, long grass, and getting lost in the woods.

I can't find any, so forced to use ones that seem to love all the above.

I'll start off...

Callaway Razr Fit Xtreme 2013 driver.

I met with one of the guys from Callaway last week in San Diego, he assured that their 2013 RAZ Fit Xtreme driver will be the longest driver they have ever made.  From the pictures he showed me, it looks pretty interesting.  Unfortunately, he didn't have a club he could show me in person, but doing a little searching online, pictures are starting to surface about this next generation driver.

I'm currently gaming the 2012 RAZR Fit and really like the performance of it.  I've been a TaylorMade guy in the past, but the RAZR Fit just had tighter dispersion than my previous drivers... Without sacrificing distance.  I hope the 2013 model is similar - but longer as I could always use more distance.

Yeah, mvmac and I played golf last week with one of the guys who works in Callaway's marketing department.  He said they are very excited for the release of their 2013 RAZR Fit Xtreme product.  He showed us pictures of it, but the club wasn't in his bag.  So really can't say much at the moment.  They are going through a Twitter drive right now to release more information on the product.

Good thread.

The Titleist 913 has been out for a while but is just now going through retail. I have not hit yet, but it doesn't look all that different than previous version. I will be interested to hear everyone's thoughts.

More forgiving, very consistent, direct feel, nice selection of stock shafts to fit your swing.

How it works for you depends on your swing and where you impact the ball on the club head. I've heard a lot of comments with little data or analysis by golfers - it sounds as if they're blaming the club for their poor swings or point of impact on the club head  - typical. For golfers who like the club, it sounds as if they have a decent swing, have the right shaft, and impact the ball at more optimum points on the club face. Get some impact tape, and make certain your fitter takes his time.

I hit the 913 D2 on the range without an LM and liked it. Nice balance, feel, weight - a consistent and forgiving clubs Feels good, looks good. Just get fit and get good info from your LM data.

I posted in another thread about the 913.  Great driver, great feel, low spin and good choice of shafts.  I just was not able to get better numbers with the 913 than my current Burner 2.0 Driver.  I do have my Burner 2.0 Driver cut to 44" and reshafted to a Motore F1 85 gram, but the 913 could not out perform it.

It is funny.  Myself and another forum member here were talking yesterday in a round we were playing.  we were saying that we should have 600 yard drives by now.  It seems every year its "add 17 yards to your driver"  then the next year its "add 17 yard to your drive".  at this point I should be hitting 600 yard drives. haha.

For now nothing has out performed my current driver so I am looking forward to others thoughts on new drivers.  I have not tried everything yet so maybe some recommendations will help.

I think the Burner Triangular Shape is an advanced design that stabilizes the clubhead and offers added forgiveness. The OEMs have gone away or softened the triangle immensely with last year's drivers, not for performance reasons, but due to the fact that golfers did not like the shape. What can you say but Stock up on the Burner 2.0.

The stock setup was great.  I gamed with it for a while but I wanted to cut it down since it was way too long for me.  stock shaft is at 46.5" which is crazy for someone who is 5'7.

Well, the stock shaft was so soft and the swingweight so high that  you could cut an inch, I'd assume, and have a better driver.

These are all cool (and expensive even for a big budget hacker like me) so all I can do is dream. Here is a new one to look at.

http://www.xxiousa.com/

You will have to click the driver video yourself.

What I've heard is that it is low spin (with the right shaft), long, and almost as forgiving as the G20. The comments are that its trajectory is not as high as other drivers (i.e. the 913)  and it gets more roll-out.

Driver looks nice.  I'm not a fan of the green, but I believe you can get it in various finishes/color schemes?

Don't know about this new model but on the razor fit, you could do metrosexual colors.

joking - has anyone hit the Razr-Fit?

The feel of the Hawk was dreadful. How did they improve the feel of the Fit?

My advice? Get yourself a Cleveland Classic driver. It will never look like "last year's model". After all, it's a "classic" design. All the other "new" drivers are designed to look obsolete in a year, for the sole purpose to shame you into buying a new model.

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
