New Driver 9.5 or 10.5?

Quick question for anyone out there.

I'm about to be gaming the new Callaway Razr Fit Extreme Driver and wanted to know if a 9.5 or 10.5 would be more appropriate.

I am around a 12 handicap and got fitted with this club and a stiff shaft but only hit 9.5

my angle of attack was around 3.5+ and my launch angle hovered around 14-15. I carried 245-250 with roll out to around 265-270 but my misses (left) were around 15-25 yards of draw or hook.

I was wondering if I could go to a 10.5 (with open set face) to cut down on some of that left without ballooning too much or sacrificing too much difference.

From the launch monitor it looked like my flight was reasonable high on neutral but went down to a mid-midlow when i switched it to open setting.

Also, on my good hits, my spin rate was anywhere from 2800-3400

Any thoughts?

Can I have some of your attack angle please? ;). In all seriousness, I think your numbers seem pretty good. Could you not also check your numbers on the 10.5? That's really the only way to know. Great driver, btw.

personally the 9.5 would be better because todays new balls are balloons.

then, is the 9.5 really 9.5?

optimum launch angles are between 11-14deg.

keep spin below 3000.

thoughts?......too many variables ie: tee height, swing speed, COG, golf ball, and more importantly shaft.

You hit the ball 240-250, thats pretty good club head speed, i would say go with the 9.5, but honestly difference between 9.5 and 10.5 isn't that much in my opinion. But i would tend towards the lower loft just to give some leeway on keeping the spin rate down.

stick with the 9.5

I'm not a big fan of callaway, but before you purchase that, try out r11s which is on sale now and you can adjust it to your liking.

I play last year's Razr Fit driver, 9.5* with stock RIP.D NV R.flex 60 gram shaft with low kickpoint. My old HyperX Tour had mid-kick, R-flex shaft and 10.5* loft.

I have about 85 MPH clubhead speed, and found that the 10.5* Razr Fit was going a little too high. I imagine the lighter shaft and lower kick helped get the ball up.

With both Razr Fit and the new Extreme you can adjust face angle, so an open face setting would give you a bit more functional loft if you needed it.

I was playing a 10.5 razr fit, It cracked so I bought a 9.5 off of ebay. I had longer drives and fewer slices/ hooks with the 10.5.

I am now trying an 11.5 so after a few more rounds I'll post the results. I have only one round so far with the 11.5 but I hit one pretty close to 300 with it, that's about my best with the 10.5. I didn't come close to that with the 9.5. I have been using the Same stock stiff shaft cut down 1.25 inches in all three driver heads.

I hit the ball with a descending impact and my SS is about 105.

The biggest difference for me so far is that the 9.5 is quite a bit more difficult to keep on the fairway for me and quite a bit shorter with my descending blow.. So far it looks as if the 11.5 is going to be the driver I stick with.
