I've been playing Mizuno MP-57 for 5-6 years and just replaced them with Callaway X-Hot Pro irons. I care about branding and I care about looks, but I let it all go and went with the least thinkable option. I've never liked Callaway, probably without a good reason, but I've decided to let my (poor) game do the talking and stow away my pride. They're not the best looking irons, but I can work with it. Most importantly in that area is perhaps that they look good from address position, which is what matters the most. I hit a lot of clubs during the fitting session, and believe me, I wanted to like the Mizunos, Taylormades, Nikes or Vegas, but it didn't work out. There was no doubt these clubs were the ones that worked best for me during the fitting session. I'm getting more forgiveness and less feedback, which is fine by me. I can still improve with these clubs. I won't have as much time for practice the next years as I've had before, so I hope more forgiving irons will make the game more consistent and fun for me. I struggled with off center shots with my Mizunos, easily taking 10-20 yards off it. The Callaway irons are stronger, that's just something I accept. I don't mind extra distance with the irons, and I usually try to lay up at my good distances. The gap is 7º from PW to 52º wedge now. 21-24-27-31-35.5-40-45 24-27-31-35-39-43-47 I still got the MP-57s and can use them if I want. One reason I wanted new irons was that I never got fit last time. So I went from Project X 5.5 til Dynamic Gold X100. This shaft felt a lot better to me than the Project X ones. I put Pure Pro grips on them and two layers of tape underneath. I also recieved my Tour Striker 7 iron, which will be very interesting to try.

Good job having an un-biased opinion going into your fitting.  Personally I think Callaways are very cool.  I recently went in for a fitting and I knew I would make an un-biased decision but I was hoping to hit the Cobra Amp Cells the best.  Ended up with Ping G20s and I'm happy

Great looking clubs at address for a forgiving "player's" club.

Attractive at address, not bulky, and club head and sole designs look sufficiently forgiving.

Plus, the thin face makes these very "XHot" for distance.

Good luck.

Those don't look too clunky to me, seem to be a nice balance of features.

I'm interested to hear how you like the tour striker.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

I hit the 56 Tour Stryker well.

The 7i Pro Stryker that my son, who has a pretty swing, used?

Not so much....

But it can offer good feedback.

Good luck with the Stryker.
