weird putting stance

Ok let me cut to the chase... There is this guy I know at my course who has the weirdest putting stance... He stands perpendicular to the target line... But he doesn't Sam snead it... He addresses the ball outside of his right foot... And gives it a semi normal stroke is this legal?

Yes it's legal, as long as you don't straddle the line of putt. The method is called side-saddle. KJ Choi used it -- fairly briefly -- on the PGA Tour.

Actually this is exactly how Snead putted for the remainder of his career after the croquet style was disallowed.
