I hit a 7 at a pin 168 yards away normal weather conditions it was a nice shot with minor draw. It landed right near the flag stick but the ball rolled about 15 feet past maybe 20 maybe less poor judge of distance. ( I know my carry because I layered the flag) Should I be happy with this or should a 7 stop a lot quicker. My 9-lob wedge stop within 3 feet of landing. 8 starts o roll some than the 7-6-5 roll out like described above Are these clubs that should stop or is that roll normal. Thanks love this site

Obvious answer but it depends on the green. On what I consider a typical green a 7 iron would stop within a foot or two, or come back a foot or two, but I've played on some greens where it was hard to stop any club.

Hit down on the ball, divot need to be in front of the ball, creating higher launch, steeper decent, with more spin......with your seven iron you might even spin it back from where it hit. Is this the right forum for this question?

Already been said but yeah it depends on the firmness of the green, if the shot was uphill, slopes on the greens, etc.  Generally I would say a little roll out with a seven iron is normal.

Actually it's the opposite, all things equal, more decent launches the ball lower, shallow launches it higher.

All about conditions here. If it's dry and hot with no wind the ball rolls quite a bit. For me a 7i performs more like a long iron than a wedge.
