Hey I was just wondering, what do you guys use during the round, and at home, to keep your clubs clean and grooves dirt free (Predominantly irons and wedges). What tools do you use as well.

Driver Titleist 905R 9.5* (Stiff Prolaunch Blue 65g)

After each round I use Windex in a spray bottle and just spray my clubs and use a old tooth brush to clean the grooves and then dry with a towel.
I also have a ball/club washer like at the courses. It too is full of Windex. I use it sometimes to clean my irons and wedges. I clean everything after each round.
While playing I just carry a big bath towel and wet one end of it to keep my ball clean and wipe the clubs after every shot. I carry it to the green for putting to clean my ball after I mark and lift it.

I carry a old Washington Redskins tooth brush in my back pocket during a round and after each shot (if needed) I spit on the club and rub it with the brush then wipe it with the towel.....has worked for me

I like to keep my clubs clean during a round so that way I'm not spending time afterwards doing it

A wet towel. I'll even resort to spitting if my wife's not looking. ;^)

The range I go to recently bought a club cleaner so I always clean all my clubs when I hit balls there. At home I just use a little scrub-brush with warm water.

Old toothbrush, washing them all in the sink after rounds. I am really picky about this, cleaning all the tee-paint off the faces and soles, digging dirt out of the sole number stampings, etc. On the course, it's spit and a towel. I used to carry a brush in the golf bag, but decided it looks a bit too nerdy to do this.

durning the round - towel on my bag
at home - fill a bucket up with a warm, soapy water soak all clubs (except for woods, and putter, dont get that dirty) for about five-ten minutes, then wipe them down thoroughly with a towel. It all takes about 20 minutes, and I do it once-twice per week.

Totally fanatical about keeping my clubs clean. Speck of dirt on any groove? Got a pin?

Cleanliness is next to...so the saying goes.

Is it really that time-intensive to take the time to read the threads on this forum and whilst at the same time clean your clubs really, really...well...uh...cleanly?

I'm a wet towel guy too. Every once in a while I'll break out the mini flathead screwdriver to clean the grooves.

Terrier, those are some nice looking clubs in your picture there. Your's?

Wish I had the game to back 'em up. Played with a PGA pro recently that had Hogan Apex blades from the same era...a 975D with an S300...Apex blades lead-taped...and we talked "old-school clubs". Man, hell of a golfer.

I have this round brush that you can punch through a towel. I wet the heck outta that towel and then scrub with the brush after pretty much every shot, or on the tee give all the clubs I used on the previous hole a quick wipe. About once a week or so, I'll do the same as mentioned above - fill the kitchen sink with some soapy water, let all the clubheads sit in it for a couple minutes, then scrub 'em, wipe 'em, give the grips a wipe and leave everything out to dry completely.

Nothing in the swing is done at the expense of balance.

A wet towel. I try to spend more time using my clubs than cleaning my clubs. If you wipe your clubs after each shot there should be no need to turn Martha stuart on them after the round.
My grips get cleaned on occasion though, and, you guessed it, I use a wet towel.

I've always found that a tee works perfectly well for what the towel doesn't get.

Dude, I just looked at your sig. Those Callaways are 16 and 19 'yo. I like the 19, that 16 I couldn't hit worth a crap.

      Went to a PING fitting day today. Going to be ordering a G430 Max 3w with a 75g x-stiff shaft at 5w length and a 3h. I forget what my fitter did with the shaft on that but she told me she’s going to email the club the specs of everything. The 3w combination we found pretty quickly. As for the hybrid, we tried a bunch of different head and shaft combinations for that distance with mixed results. Then she handed me the 3h and I took three swings with it and knew it was the one.

      That’s quite a generalization. It’s clear that you don’t like water but there are plenty of us that drink it just fine. My daily intake is usually about 20oz of black coffee, 16oz of soda, 8oz of milk mixed into a protein shake, and anywhere between 30-60oz of water. It doesn’t even need to be cold and I kind of prefer it closer to room temperature than cold. I quite like the taste of tap water, with sole exception being the tap water at Magic Kingdom (it’s terrible). I can’t stand when people bring me tap water with a lemon wedge in it. I didn’t ask for lemon in my water.

      This is the part I don’t get. He’s not even kind of sandbagging, he’s blatantly doing it and submitting scores that are verified to be incorrect. How he’s not banned from competition is beyond me.

      He's right in what he's saying.I also have done this experiment with a golf shaft swinging with one arm at a time.one arm at a time is for me very fast but both hands together are very slow ..I got my 17 year old son to do this experiment and he swung very fast with either hand and he swung very fast with both hands together..My conclusion up to now is ; I'm not using my wrists properly but I not a 100 percent sure just yet..I will keep trying to fathom this out .I'm a 12 handicap and my son is 3.9 at Westlancs..
