It seems that it is pretty popular to go in the mornings, but I just don't get up early on my days off, period. I usually will get out to the course around noon. Honestly, if I had my way I would play golf in the middle of the night on a course with stadium lighting. It would be nice and cool, plus I love how night looks compared to day...I'm a night owl. I obviously go at noon because no courses are capable of being played at night, but if there was such a thing I would prefer to tee off at twilight. Or is there such a nighttime course? Anyway, how about you guys and why?

My signature says it all! I wrote that the day I joined this forum, and stand by it.

Heaven is 630 a.m. Saturday morning, 65 crisp degrees headed toward a comfortable 80, first tee (elevated, of course) . . . and not another worry in the world.

I am hopelessly incapable of getting up early in the morning - except for golf. Even then, it's a struggle and I play badly on the first few holes. I prefer late morning, around 10 or so. That means I can make the turn, get a hot dog and consider it as lunch, or something. Also, it's most crowded at 8 in the morning, which means play is painfully slow, anyway.

Early morning is best, you wake up, play 18 and finish at 11:00. You still have the whole day ahead of you to do other things

But why would you want to do other things later in the day when you could have lots of sleep and be spending that time golfing! I also stay up until like 3:00 A.M. so even if I golf late I have plenty of time left in the day/night.

I think I prefer to tee off around 4:30pm in the summer. Finish up just as the sun is going down. Plus, it's cheaper :)

where's the poll option for "it doesn't matter one little bit"? seriously, anytime is tee time. if i'm teeing it up, i'm happy as a pig in slop. early, late, makes no difference. i just love to play.

HANDS DOWN, ABSOLUTELY - There is NOTHING better than getting the 1st tee-time of the day.

I am excited just typing it!!

Fresh dew on the ground, usually no wind - fresh cut hole, perfectly raked bunkers, no one in front to wait for - no pitch marks on the green. It is a great feeling to know you are the first one to play that hole. Everything else is like painting over a used canvas. In one word - Fresh.

There are some downsides, but none of them effect me to notice.

I live in the Mountains, and the look of the sun cast on them is to die for. In the summer the sun is up by 5:30am. The only reason there are no tee times that time, is because they don't sell, and grounds hasn't finished working on the course

Yesterday I had the 1st time, and it was uncontested glory. We played again at 11:30am - the second best time to play as there are no shadows during that period.

The earlier the better.

1) because I'm an early riser, and don't miss as much of the day with my kids
b) The course sure is beautiful at day-break, and it makes me happy.
3) Hackers don't come out till later, so there is no waiting.

The best time to tee off is first light on Saturday mornings, because here in oklahoma we hit about 90* at about 10:30 in the morning. Early morning is the way to go..........if you can wake up. Anytime after lunch and it will be around 100* if not hotter. Plus it's humid. I'll drink two camelbacks full of water, plus a couple of 32oz. bottles of water on 18 holes. It's a killler.

At my local course there are standard times, twilight, and super twilight. The later it is, the cheaper.

At my course, members can only get the discount (free) on weekdays and holidays if they tee off after 1 PM. Weekdays are fine, though, any time.
