Well, this is simple. Who is going to be the U.S. Open champion this time next week?

I am publishing a Thrash Talk in the morning with my thoughts, so I will discuss them at that time or sometime tomorrow evening.

For now, speak your mind here. My opinions are definitely different than any other I feel, but that is what makes Thrash Talk interesting.

Tiger Woods, -4. Tough course, but Woods will win by three. Only two players will be under par. DiMarco will finish fourth. Second? I won't say...

I think it's really going to be a different week than anyone is expecting. I don't think the pattern of early 2005 will be followed whatsoever. I just have that odd feeling about Pinehurst this year. It's a good feeling, but a weird feeling.

Agreed. I'm rooting for DiMarco though.

I'll be there Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. My father was there yesterday and said the course is in great shape. Most of the guys were practicing putting from off the green in every possible direction.

Well, I'm going with Adam Scott. I just think he is a solid player that don't get too high or too low. I think it will take a lot of patience this week, something a lot of the big names don't necessarily have week in and week out. I have seen the big guys get flustered a lot more as of late.

I think Scott will win and DiMarco will be there as well. He don't always have patience, but he can always bounce back after having a bad hole or two.

As for the winning score, I am saying +1. I said in Thrash Talk that it wouldn't be -1 or better, so I'm sticking with it. That's also why I think Scott can win because it will be anyone's ballgame once Sunday afternoon rolls around.

Just to add one more thought before this thing starts on Thursday, I would absolutely love to see Padraig Harrington win the U.S. Open. His father has been battling cancer all year long, and it's really been tough on Padraig. It would be an unbelievable Father's Day present if Harrington won the Open at Pinehurst this Sunday.

I may have picked Scott and DiMarco, but my heart will be rooting for Padi all week long!:)

Mickelson said on PTI today that he thought +5 would win. Every year the pros all say that a score like +3 or higher will win, but it never happens. This year, with no rain expected all week, over par could win.

I'll say David Toms wins at +1.

Okay...okay....I am now officially on the "Goosen gets no respect bandwagon"
Today they did'nt even show him teeing off the first..a hole in which he birdied....to tie again for the lead
It is still early in the round, but they are showing Olin Brown more than Goosen. And Goosen is ahead off him by one.

I would like to see Annika AND Tiger both slam this year. I count his "Tiger Slam" as an actual Slam, too. He held all four at the same time. That's a slam to me.

I want Tiger to break the record not because I like Tiger in some way, but because I like to see dominating, great golf. If it's all from one guy, then I'll be able to talk to my friends about it.

I think it would be very boring if Tiger won the Grand Slam. But like you Erik, I believe he has already accomplished it. I don't care if it was in the same calendar year or not, he was the champ of all 4 at the same time.

I love when guys win their first major, and I'm hoping this is the week for Adam Scott, Sergio Garcia, etc.

So far, my pick Adam Scott is hanging around at +1. I'm not sure if his putting will hold up on the weekend, but I'm hoping it does. I still think +1 has a chance at winning this thing, as the course isn't getting any easier.

It's going to be very fun no doubt about it.

      Typically less than 50. I find this can be affected by the "CART" signs on a given course. I don't like taking my rangefinder out of the cart and carrying it around to the green. I am very fearful I will leave it somewhere.

      First ever holed out greenside bunker shot! It's crazy it took this long to finally get one during a round, but the cold streak is officially over. Hole 6 on the Palmer Course at PGAN. I hit my driver like 225 into a really stiff wind, then worm burned a hybrid into the bunker. I was about I dunno, 40-45 feet away. Birdie! Let's go! The red Xs the approximate location of each shot.  Really fun!!

      Played Four Oaks in Dracut today going back to the 2 man scramble match play format. My brother and I shot a team 81 winning 3 and 2. Had so many good shots today using a more centered turn. Seems to have really iginited my golf game. We'll see if I can keep it going.
