Got a tip that Dick's was have a clearance sale of Ping K15 drivers for $97. So I jumped in my car and headed to Dick's tonight. I bought that last stiff shafted driver (9.5) and 5 wood they had. Driver was $71.97 and 5 wood was $51.97. Merry Christmas to me! :-) I was tired of waiting for a price drop on the Ping G25's.

I worry about counterfeits from ebay. That's an amazing price for a G25.

So do I. He did buy it from a PGA type online store, and confirmed it to be real. They said if he wasn't happy, he could return it within 14 days.

Wish I would have seen the 3 wood first.. :-D

I regripped the driver and 5 wood. The original grips were too skinny. I tried to get them off with my air compressor both couldn't do it. I been meaning to lengthen my irons as well. So I increased them 1 inch and regripped them as well. Can't wait to get on the range and course today.

K15 is a solid performer. Good luck and love the 5 wood addition. You try the hybrids? I use a 23 g15. Love it.

If you come across a K15 model 3W, give it a try. At 16* loft and a low-profile head, it gets the ball up nicely.

(I tried one out a couple of years ago, but ended up not buying).

I hit the 5 wood absolutely perfect yesterday. Uncanny. I guessing about 225 mostly but every shot came off like I envisioned it. Slight draw. The driver is a little more closed than I prefer. Hit a few big hooks, but only one cost me a stroke. I have confidence that the ball will not go right. That's a nice feeling. I think I may take a road trip to another Dick's to find a 3 wood. Possibly a hybrid if the deal is there. They look a little too closed for me though. I play a draw as it is, so that might be a snapper.

I took a road trip to another Dick's and found a K15 3 wood 16* with a stiff shaft. $51.97. If it hits as nice as the 5 wood, I'll be ecstatic. I don't hit my current 15* 3 wood. From the deck, it's like my love life. I can't get it up like I used to.

Played yesterday and the driver worked well. Nothing went right. I had a couple of drives that hooked a little more than I'd like but still kept in the fairway. It really seems to be much more forgiving than my old driver. Misses are still OK. And it is long. Drove the green on a 311 par 4. Ball was an absolute rope. The 3 wood is great. I had given up hitting a 3 wood several years ago. I have a 15* Goldwin. I like it off the tee, but could not hit it off the deck consistently. Weird. This K15 3 wood got up nicely. I hit one ball that left a mark on the face almost an inch toward the toe. The ball still drew 220 right where I aimed it. That's incredible. There's a tight 296 par 4 that I usually hit my old 3 wood about 235. I hit this 3 wood even with the front of the green. Every hit is a gentle draw. Found a keeper.

      I don’t measure my intake either. I generally have a black coffee, a bottle of soda, some sweet tea at home, and anything in between is water. An ice cold bottle of water is one of my favorite things. It feels like an immediate refresher for my body. I’ll admit that I need to drink a little more though.

      For such a nice membership, there have been some bad incidents in the past few years.  We had someone voted out a couple of years ago over something he did and he harassed the board members for three months until he moved out of the area.   Generally they’ve tried to do things like tournament handicaps and identify certain people who they know should be lower and adjust it somehow.  I can understand not wanting to go thru something like the guy who was voted out again i emailed the pro who forwarded it to the handicap committee.  They are going to see what can be done.  I walked someone thru what happened and they are going to nudge him to post the score from the match and see what he does.  Since he didn’t put anything in the electronic scoring past 13, based on how he played 14 and 15 plus having to take bogey on 16-18 for after he left, he should post 83.  We’ll see if it’s even higher,   Since he was really even thru 13, then doubled 14 and parred 15 my guess is he really shot 75 being generous and giving him 2 pars and a bogey on the three holes he didn’t play.    i shot 88, getting 16 shots for my course handicap which is net even and I lost on 13.  We do brackets where handicaps should be within 4-5 of each other.  Most matches only have 1-2 shots as a difference between players  neither of us posted the score yet.  There was something in the match play rules about whether or not to post your score.  I couldn’t remember if we were supposed to or not.  I don’t think he was going to post that, because even with his inflated score it would be the lowest score in his recent 20. Lucky I didn’t because they want to see what he does post and they don’t want me posting so he can try to calibrate his score.

      This is why you should never have any expectations when you play golf even when you think things are starting to click together. In end golf will just curb stump you.
