I've been Playing Golf for: 8 My current handicap index or average score is: 20 My typical ball flight is: straight irons, slight slice with driver The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: long irons hitting fat [rule] Videos: http://ubersense.com/x5czUWjF Just read the stack and tilt book and tried to follow the same principles. This video so happened to be of the best drive I've had in a long time. 260yards straight down the middle. Usually they have a slight slice.

Swings looks pretty good. Head is moving a little towards the target towards the end of the backswing/start of the downswing. I'd keep an eye on that.

Cheers for the info. Here's a video from behind. This probably shows my problems more. http://ubersense.com/WBOMji6b I'm over swinging badly, the club head is aiming towards the sky instead of to the right and the downswing plane is too much over the top. Is my club head angle caused by how I'm hinging or cocking my wrists? Also what are the best training tips to try get my swing planes more similar? Thanks.

Slowing down your practice is the best way to make changes.  See the thread below.

So for what you want to do, example: not over swing, practice taking the club up to the top slowly.  Then make the transition slowly.  You can practice that motion anytime too, even without a club.

The video below is from this thread.

The idea is to limit your back swing to be as far as your shoulders want it to go.  Any further, and your body compensates in the transition.  Stephan is demonstrating a way to determine that.  I do the last part, holding my left thumb and pushing out with my right arm, all the time. Stephan is one of the excellent Evolvr instructors and is on this site as well.

Here's an update.

I went and seen my local Pro who has helped me a lot.

We did a few set up changes and really worked on my pivot.

My handicap is now : 13

I'm still too inconstant with my driver and fairway woods and think if I can get more consistency out of these I'l drop into single figures sometime this year.  My shots tend to be 50% hooks, then a mix between straight, good fades, and push slices.

Personally I feel I'm early extending and delivering a high handle, and also like mvmac said with my first swing is that my head moves towards target at top of back swing.  I struggle with sky shots so think my AoA is negative.

Thanks in advance!

    • I have nothing to add other than I freaking love her swing and I think she's hot as hell and some of my golfing buddies disagree so I fought them
    • I’m not sure I agree. It’s just what the majority find more entertaining. Most people prefer women’s gymnastics over men in the Olympics. How much hype is there with the men’s compared to the women’s? I bet you can rattle off several big names in women’s gymnastics and only a handful of men. Women’s tennis …same thing. And sure enough, their purses are the same. However, WNBA, awful…LPGA, not near as much interest than PGA. Don’t think it’s really that complicated IMO.

    • Hence your Avatar!😜 I drink a lot of water during the day if I’m playing or exercising. I get cramps otherwise.
    • If you walk up to a food/drink kiosk at Magic Kingdom and ask the person for a cup of "magic water" they will give you a small cup of Sprite for free. About 3 fingers worth. They don't sell alcohol at MK anymore so I go over to one of the courses while she hangs out there.
