39-40 on medium sized greens, I use a Scotty Newport 2. I normally hit 5-6 three putts a round. In short my putting sucks my best ever is 34, my worst 42. I should really be better but I don't practise it that much, maybe 15-20 mins every two weeks.

Oh, and for some reason I always seem to three putt when I manage to get a GIR

I've actually been trying to work on this alot. In August I was averaging 2.7 putts per hole, and now I'm down to 2.2. I have the odd ability to one putt 2-3 times around and then on the following hole 4 putt...go figure
I'm only at 13 clubs in the bag, what do you reccomend as a 14th? My foot wedge?

Funny this thread comes up. I had at one point in time yesterday 6 three putts in a row. Greens are getting a little weird this late in the season, but that is hardly an excuse. Worst putting day of my life.

I've got way too many rounds with 37+ putts, only saved by a couple rounds of 29-31. How can I feel like I've been playing so well this year, but have so many stats look awful......

EDIT: to be conforming

Greens: average
Putter: was an Odyssey DFX, now a Ping Anser S[exp]n[/exp]
Three-Putts/Round: 2+

Nothing in the swing is done at the expense of balance.

1. Green size (small, medium, large)
Average
2. Putter you use
Golfsmith USS Enterprise
3. Number of three putts per round
less than 1

I can go 2 or 3 rounds without a 3 putt, then have a couple in one round. But they are rare for me, mostly because I chip fairly well... close enough for a lot of one putts, or tap in 2nd putts. And I'm a pretty good lag putter most days, so even my long putts usually leave a short 2nd putt. My best for 9 holes this year was 11 putts, best for 18 holes was 29... typical is 32-34.

Green Size: Average
Putts per round: 37-38 but improving
Putter: Ram Zebra and old Ping; Santa will have a new one for me.
3-Putts: I'd say about 3 but getting better.

Funny yesterday I had my best putting day ever. I averaged 2.0 putts per hole. I had 2 one putts and 2 three putts. The conditions were terrible to. Wind blowing 25 mph. Leaves all over the greens. The wind was blowing so hard I had to widen my stance and I could see the ball shaking before I hit it. I've never had to take into account break, speed, and wind before.

Green Size: Average to Big
Putts per round: 32-36
Putter: Scotty Cameron Studio Style 2.5
3-puts: 1-3 per round maybe

I am normally pretty good about not three putting but I would be fabricating if I said I didn't normally do it.

Putting and chipping is the best part of my game, right now the biggest problem is staying out of trouble, tee shots, and not shanking my irons.

Putts per round: 38-40
Putter: Odyssey White Hot #1
3-puts: 2-4

And I'm usually good for one 4 putt . Putting had been my weakest game, but after practicing lag putting, it has improved dramatically. I'm usually money within 6 feet, but I'll occasionally miss the 3 footer.

    • Agree. The next omission needs to be that ridiculous team concept. Nobody cares about a team when they really don’t represent anything except being a group of diminished morality and/or washed up pro golfers. Or wait, we’ve also got total nobodies who’ve accomplished nothing who now get a participation trophy! Doesn’t that sound invigorating!
    • LIV moving to 72 holes is a subtle admission that 54 holes was nothing but a joke all along.
    • I was going to start a thread, but this seems like the place.  Yesterday I played my matchplay match at my local club.  My opponent is a notorious sandbagger by reputation.  The pro once pulled his tournament rounds from the past several years and said that it is impossible his tournament rounds are legit based on his handicap. here is what happened last night.  I am getting 4 shots from him.  His current handicap index is 15.3 i shot 45 on the front.   Was down 4 after nine, he had three birdies and shot even par. I was closed out on thirteen, we halved with a bogey.  That bogey put him one over par for his round.   He then took a triple on 14 and then left. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he lied about his score.   I wrote down on my scorecard what the score was.  He put higher values that didn’t affect the outcome of the match to pad his score and apparently make it not look as obvious.   He shot 36 on the front, but claimed 40.  The higher values for his score were in the online scoring app our club uses.  He did it this way: I won #7. He had a 2 foot putt for par that if he made would still lose the hole.   He picked up and said it didn’t matter since I won.  He took a 5 instead of a 4 after picking up a gimme. on #8 his approach shot on this par 4 was 8 inches.  I verbally conceded the putt but I had hit into a hazard.  I finished the hole with a 6.  Instead of birdie he put in for par. on #9, another par 4, his approach was to 18 inches.  I missed my par putt and then knowing how close I verbally conceded the putt.  I missed my bogey putt, he never conceded mine.  Instead of birdie he put down a bogey. He padded his score by 4 shots on the front.  And then did again on 10.  I rinsed one and made 6 on a par 4.  I putted out and he was fishing balls out of the lake so I drove off to the next tee.  He had 15 feet laying two but claimed a 5.     love to know the odds of a 15 handicap being even thru 12 holes on a round of golf.
