  2. +1 on the under armor pants. I'm further south in Florida and wear them all the time. Not the warmest in the cold though, but shouldn't be too bad for Florida cold. Pretty comfortable in the heat. If you are ex-military, they give quite a discount, especially online. Free 2 day shipping with Shop Runner if you have that with your credit card.
  3. If you want to try a longer length, Tour Edge sells demo clubs that you can get at a longer length and modified lie angle to your proposed specifications. I'm 6'4" and most static fittings say I should be an inch longer as well, or I'm on the border between 1/2" and 1" (as were my Ping irons). I purchased a demo iron from Tour Edge to try out at 1/2" longer and 2 degrees upright. After doing well with the club trying it on the course, I was able to call them to purchase the rest of the set, avoiding purchasing a second 7 iron. Not sure if other companies do that, but you may be able to locate something to demo from another company or by getting a second hand club.
  4. Just to follow up, I ended up with going with a new Tour Edge Bazooka 370 box set with senior flex graphite shafts. I took the kid to the golf store over the weekend and he managed to hit the adult sized clubs just fine. I stuck with the senior set as he still hasn't figured out how to swing hard under control, so the graphite shafts with some flex should help. The Tour Edge clubs look a lot like his junior clubs, so they have some familiarity to him. Thanks everyone for the advice.
  5. Hi @Scipio, I am curious about Star Grips as well. Their grips don't have logos, so I am interested in trying it on my driver. There's a shop by my job that carries these, but the shop is not the best at all and is mostly a used club and ball shop. I'll make an effort to visit sometime soon (next week or two) and will pick one up and can report back.
  6. Thank you both @DrvFrShow and @phillyk for your input! I was looking at the ladies club options as well, but noticed my wife's set was about the same size as his current junior set. I measured his irons and his Tour Edge junior set has a SW (34.5 length), a 9/P (35 length), and a 7/8 (36 length). The SW is about .75 shorter than a men's Tour Edge SW and if you average the men's 7/8, its about an inch shorter. So with that info, I'm currently looking at a couple of options: Stay put for a while longer until I can gather some more info. See if there's a way to add .5" to his current irons if they make small enough shaft extenders for this, leave the hybrid and woods as-is. Buy the largest junior SW, 9i, and 7i I can find at a golf store if they are in the length I am looking for (about a half inch shorter than men's standard). Or build the 3 irons using components with lighter heads and appropriate flex shafts (like Hireko Golf). Buy a junior or ladies set if I can find them around the specs I am looking for, or pick up something used. I appreciate all of the input!
  7. Hi Everyone, I am looking for a recommendation for a new set of clubs for my junior golfer. He has been using a Hot Launch Junior set meant for 64-67" tall, but he has recently grown to 68" tall (5' 8"). He's about 11 and a half and loves the sport, but is not to the point where he really needs a full set at this point. I was trying to figure out how to static fit him into a set of lightweight clubs similar to his junior set, but it s a bit of a challenge as there are not really junior options at his height. When statically fitting him, his wrist to floor without shoes was 32" and his wrist to fingertip for grip size is 7.5". Looking this up on the net he would need -0.75" and needs a ladies or senior flex to make sure the clubs are still flexible for his junior stature. There's US Kids golf clubs available in a 66-69 height range, but I'm concerned with those as they are the most expensive Tour Series and he's going to outgrow those in about a year. Any recommendations are appreciated! Best Regards, Dan
  8. I do understand that three of the majors are not run by the PGA tour, but the PGA championship is run by the PGA of America. It was my understanding that anyone suspended would have issue with being a PGA of America member (which they get through the tour) unless they join through other means. If the USGA or the R&A takes issue with LIV golf, then I would expect them to do something next year with the US Open and The Open. or perhaps many of the LIV golfers just don't qualify unless they are past champions.
  9. Very interesting! I figured this had to be a joke just reading the lawsuit. I'm suing because of my Honda Classic tickets and so forth. Way too funny. My prediction will be that the LIV player lawsuits won't come until one of the major championships says no thanks to LIV players.
  10. We have our first PGA Tour - LIV golf lawsuit: Lawsuit seeking class-action status filed against PGA Tour in Palm Beach County I don't see this having much merit. I am a member of a professional bowling organization and there's a conflicting event clause in the membership rules. I'm assuming the PGA tour suspensions are relating to a similar rule. I wish they would state the rule verbatim out there.
  11. My son has this same Tour Edge Jr. set and I second the putter. The putter it comes with isn't that great. So I went and bought my son a Tour Edge mallet putter and he putts much better with that than the stock Jr. set one. Overall though, this set is a good value. Hope your daughter enjoys it!
  12. Played my first round of 18 holes in over 10 years today and broke 100 by carding a 91 (I play 9 holes mostly due to lack of time). I could have easily broke 90 with a few less penalties, so I look forward to doing that again and perhaps breaking 90. I've broken 90 and 100 before, but may as well start over claiming the awards as I haven't done so in a long time.
  13. I was browsing the list of exhibitors at the 2022 PGA Merchandise Show and noticed that there's a new company called Urquehart Golf selling an adjustable club from what looks to be on a standard shaft: Urquhart Golf They are supposedly releasing this club on Kickstarter sometime between now and the PGA Merchandise Show. I did play a round of golf on vacation last week with a Sunday bag setup consisting of my normal driver, my custom Acer Divnick hybrid, the Divnick 34 in 1 iron, and my backup putter. Shot 49 for nine. No issues playing the collapsible hybrid or iron. My issues in the round were mostly relating to using my backup putter, which I think needs a permanent benching. My highlight of the round was hitting driver - collapsible hybrid within 3 feet on nine in front of a bunch of onlookers from the clubhouse. Unfortunately I pulled the putt and two putted for par.
  14. I purchased and am reading Lowest Score Wins. Great book so far! Looking forward to practicing this weekend! Thanks!
