Hey guys, I have just picked up a couple of Bridgestone B330-S balls and they seem to feel like the ProV1x off the putter face. They are not as expensive but now I am really curious about their performance. There won't be a course open around me for months to come so I am wondering if you guys can provide me with some real life performance reviews on these balls. Are the B330 very similar to the B330-S? What is suppose to be the difference?

Also, I am curious about the Bridgestone e5 and e6. What do they feel like compared to the B330-S?
Thanks in advance!
Dave

I haven't played the B330, but picked up a box of the E6s recently. I really liked them. In that price range, my personal preference would be either that or the HX Hot.
What's in the bag:

G10 9 degree, TFC 129 shaft, stiff
Big Bertha 3 Wood
FTX 2i, Apex Plus 3i-E MP-R 52/07 and 56/13 Zing

I don't know about the B330-S - they're definitely not for me quite yet - but the e6 is in competition with the DT So/Lo, not the ProV1x and feels similar to me.

I absolutely love the B330-S. The spin rate is perfect for me. They have a nice click off the putter face. The ball feels lively, not soft and dead. Some players may want a softer, quieter ball.

I played the B330 and e5 for most of 2006 but switched to the "S" in early '07 and haven't looked back.

I would only recommend this ball if you have the swing speeds to compress it (irons and driver). If you do, you'll love the reaction off the face. The B330 is longer, but if you can compress the "S" then distance is not an issue for you.

The new e5+ (mid priced/high spin) is a huge improvement over the e5 with its urethane cover. The click is a little muted but it is a soft ball with excellent spin and distance. Comparable distance to the B330-S. I use this ball for casual rounds and practice.

Last year Rock was blowing them out for 25 a dozen so I brought 10 dozen and loved everyone of them.Long and I could really back them up on the greens.Only problem was they seemed to scruff up a little easier then Pro v 1 but like I said I brought 10 dozen so I had plenty for the whole season.

The urethane cover on the e5+ is superior to the surlyn used on the e5.

It is softer. The core was reworked as well. This ball flies further than the e5.

Love the B330-S!

Little bit firmer off the putter, but it's longer off the tee, more stable in the wind, and spins every bit as much around the greens as a ProV1.

    • Sounds about right. I forgot this place existed until now.
    • Day 5: Mirror work focusing on the start of the backswing
    • Day 82 (22 Jul 25) - played our church men’s group captains choice nine hole this evening.  Had a blast working green side shots with the wedges.  Love the format as I play a nine club bag which brings on shot creativity in a fun way.
    • Finished Bandon Trail today. Man what a course. Big upgrade over Sheep Ranch. I am giving Sheep Ranch a  7/10. Mostly views, course was good, and fun.  I am giving Bandon Trails 8.25/10. It's up there with Sand Valley in my opinion. Much more demanding of the course. With the wind it just gets brutal.  The first two holes are fully exposed to the wind, since they sit on the western edge of the course, open to the pacific. Even though it is tree lined, the wind has a big impact as it rolls over the hills and dunes. You can be surrounded by trees and feel the 20 mph wind at the tee box or fairway. I recommend using the yardage book, as it contains the course layout with a compass rose showing the prevailing wind (almost always from the north in the summer). It's easier to judge which direction the wind is going.  I played halfway decent. I hate when the shank gets loaded into the gun. Short game is on point, putting is good. I just need to make better swigs. My shot is definitely not built for wind. 😭 Here are some photos...
    • Would he not be entitled to unplayable relief and a one stroke penalty? And wouldn't the drop for unplayable plausibly be the same as the one he took?  That he cited the wrong rule and no penalty makes this a two stroke penalty instead of one? I'm assuming I'm wrong and there is a rule that prevents the player from reinterpreting his actions afterwards?  Regarding rule 14.7 - wrong place - and the general penalty. In this case, he gained a significant advantage by having an unimpeded swing? Shouldn't the penalty be for a "serious breach"? DQ?
