Hey guys,

Recently I bought a dozen titleixt NXT tours at Dick's Sporting Goods and upon opening the box I found that one sleeve of balls had PRACTICE stamped on them. I was like, "what the @#$%??" Unfortunately, I forgot to take them back so it looks like i will be stuck with them. My question is, has this ever happened to you?

never happed to me but we use Pro V1's at the academy near college - all marked PRACTICE - i don't think you can use them in competitions - though they may just tell us that so we won't nick them ;) be careful just in case.

Hey guys,

One of the commercials I saw yesterday had Zach Johnson catching a golf ball in his hand. I paused the screen, and sure enough, it too was marked "Practice".

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

When I worked in retail that sort of thing happend all the time. We always blamed it on a thief who bought a box of the cheaper stuff and switched the contents. I thought most boxes of balls were being sealed nowadays.

. . . I thought most boxes of balls were being sealed nowadays.

Maybe but I recently bought a dozen Titleist NXT Tours (not from Dick's) and got home and found that in two sleeves the NXT Tours were marked "3" and there were no sleeves with the NXT Tours marked "1". It sort of irked me since I like Titleist 1s better than I like Titleist 3s, but not enough for me to take them back.

Of course, there COULD have been a sleeve of Noodles (instead of a sleeve of Titleist 3s) or some other less expensive ball in the NXT Tour box . . . BTW, none of the golf balls in this golf store, Titleist or otherwise, were in sealed boxes. I did learn a valuable lesson, however. That's the last time I'll buy a dozen balls without opening the box and checking them before I leave the store -- sealed box or not.

Actually just happened to me the other day, but luckily the clerk at the store had checked the box before I left the store because they have had someone changing out balls. I was buying some Nike One Platinum's, and the balls in the box were actually Nike Power Super Softs or something along those lines,,, which meant that someone got a dozen of the One's for the $10.00 the Super Softs were selling for.

Glad the clerk caught it, because I would have been ticked...

I too will now always check the box before I leave the store.
