I’ve been a member of this forum for a little under half a year, and once or twice a week, I encounter a post that at least references the Newport Cup. I’ve read that it’s sort of like the Ryder Cup, but I’m interested to learn more.

The short version, its a competition arranged by @iacas and @mvmac between teams of TST members. one from the East and one from the West.  Although I understand that the format has varied through the years, the last two events have indeed been patterned after the Ryder Cup.  The two times I've been invited have been significant highlights of my golfing life.

I wouldn’t be opposed to running two simultaneously.

Maybe without the foursomes though. Maybe replacing with a scramble.

I doubt if I would be able to make it to something like that with my situation, but, I would think there would be others that might show an interest,  If only to meet face to face some of the fine people here on TST and just have fun playing this crazy sport.  Might post a poll to see if there would be enough interest for a scramble or something along that line.

I’ve got some work to do (current handicap 18) but if I work hard enough, I’ll be able to make it to one when I get good enough. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Definitely something I’d be interested in, depending on where, when & cost of course. I’ve had the pleasure of playing with several TST members, good guys all.
