We went to Bandon in June and it did not disappoint, awesome trip!! We have another 50th birthday party trip planned for next year and as nice as Bandon was, we are looking for something different. A guy in Bandon mentioned Streamsong. Has anyone been there? Other suggestions?

Thanks

The only golf related item on my bucket list is to return to Louisville, Kentucky, where I grew up, and play a few of the courses I grew up on.

I do want to go to the Golf Hall of Fame and I suppose I'd like to play there, but it doesn't hold as much importance in my mind.

Playing famous courses across this country holds no interest of real consequence for me.

I've had a good day if I don't fall out of the cart...

That is a good goal to have... returning to the land where you first played the game.  I have thought about returning to St. Louis to play some of the courses I played as a teen.  Back then I was short and straight... 115 pounds, 5' 10".  Now I hit that spheroid a long distance but sometimes a little crooked.  I bet I can remember my driving distance on every hole... thinking I might be 50 yards past those spots today.  But then again, it's St. Louis... nobody goes back once they've left...

I don't know about that... I have friends in Kirkwood who lived elsewhere and near retirement, moved back. Personally, I love St. Louis. The Sheldon Concert Hall is one of the most perfect acoustic rooms in the country and I've seen some incredible artists there. A friend runs Jazz On The Bistro down the block... Other than the cold weather, it's one of my favorite places to visit friends.

And then there's the art museum and Art Hill... perfect for sledding in the winter.  And, on the same plot of land as the 4th hole of the old Forest Park Golf Course!

When I fled St. Louis as a young man (still am relatively) I ran off to your neck of the palm trees.  Well, Miami Beach actually.  Then Miami Springs.

I grew up near East Lake in Atlanta, I'd like to go back and legally play there. We used to go in through a hole in a fence and knock balls around with an old club a friend had. Later on I actually picked up the game. As for an actual bucket list, I think I'd just add an Open Championship, preferably St. Andrews, I have checked off the other 3 Majors and a Ryder Cup, so I got that going for me.

I played Pinehurst over the summer.  We didn’t play #2 because most of my group are 20+ handicappers and I didn’t think it would be fun for them. We played #4 and #5, Tobacco Road, Mid Pines, CCNC and The Cradle.  We had a great time, on and off the course.  I know there are other great golf areas, but I’m itching to go back, hopefully soon.  We go to Kiawah every year.  It’s also a great golfing trip as well, but I’ve been there  over a dozen times.

  • iacas changed the title to Bucket List - Bandon, Streamsong…?

@Aaron from Baltimore my good friend played all the courses at streamsong and thought they were all great. He didn’t care too much for the greens at the black but I just told him he can’t putt worth a dang that’s why;)

Pinehurst are would be a great choice for a lot of good golf in one area.
