Has anyone hit (or currently play) the ping glide 3.0 Eye2 in the 54 or 56 degree version? I definitely see the use for it in a lob wedge around the greens and in bunkers, but I am curious If the headshape is also useful for longer shots and full swings.

I know it is based off an older ping iron set so I assume it works perfectly fine for those purposes, but I thought I’d see if anyone has any input or comments.

I don't know about the 3.0, but the 2.0 are sweet. My daughter and a few other people I know play them. The Eye2 is of course the shape that's similar to the iconic model, and is well liked for good reason(s).

Well I can't help as I still have Eye 2's in the bag: a 50.5 Eye2 Wedge, 53 Eye 2+ SW and 57.5 Eye2 SW in the bag.  I just love how they hit and I never lack confidence when swinging them.  I know that if I ever get serious about playing "USGA" compliant clubs, these wedges would have to be updated.

I have to say, these have made a legitimate difference in my wedge game. For whatever reason, it’s much easier for me to really open the face on tight lies, which is something I struggled with. Definitely one of the better purchases I’ve made in a while.

In the 2.0, is the ES grind similar to (or the same as) the Eye2 grind, or different?

I play the original eye 2 sw. in 57.5 degrees. Awesome club.  You can pick up the original on eBay for 50 bucks. They don’t get much better.  I don’t like a 60 even though I keep one on the cart. It only gets used every 5 rounds. The 57.2 degrees for me is perfect all around. It moves through grass like a hot butter knife. The only way I don’t like it is off hardpan. Because of the bounce.  Do yourself a favor and if anyone you know has one borrow it and play around with different shots it’s sweet

Had a couple of games with mine now, easy to hit, also easy to get right underneath & hit it almost straight up.

I might have to practice with ball position , I’m finding I hit them both (54 & 58) way shorter than my 58 Vokey.

The 54 Eye 2 is good for chipping out of the long grass , and pretty easy to get out of bunkers.
