New iron set is Ping G700 with last wedge at 49 degrees.  Current wedges are Cleveland RTX4 56 and 60 degrees.  Thinking 49, 54, 60 would be better.  Get an RTX4 in 54?  CBX2 in 54? Something else l8ke a Ping Glide 3.0 in 54?

I don't know if 53 degree wedges are still readily available, but my PW is 49 degrees and I play a 53 and a 58 degree for gapping. 54 58 or 54 60 should be ok too. It really comes down to personal preference. I hardly use my 58 as is, and if it were 60 I don't know if it would ever come out of the bag. Definitely understand if you don't want to buy 2 wedges though. Good luck with whatever you choose.

The number on the wedge is irrelevant. What distance do you get from 49, 56 & 60?

Yeah, your trying to fill gaps and think of what you’re using them for... especially that 54/56 spot.  Personally I have a 56 and 60 so I have 2 sand options.  A 54 out of the sand doesn’t give me the proper sole.

My PW is 44*, the GW that came with the set was a 49* but I didn't like it that much so I replaced it with a CBX 52*, much better. I know I have a gap from my PW at 44* and GW at 52* but it doesn't bother me, I just adjust my swing. My SW is a 56*. As said above I think a lot has to do with your personal choice, what feels good for you. I do not carry a LW.

How would someone else's model preference relate to your game?

You have to try whatever you can and choose what you like.

I picked up a 52 degree RTX4 gently used today for an excellent price.  I will take the 49, 52, 56 and 60 wedges out to figure out distances on full shots and go from there.

If you have to eliminate one of these to make a legal bag, I wound suggest getting rid of the 60, regardless of the distances you find. You should be able to play all sand shots and close shots where you need to get it up and down quick with the 56. 60 degrees are best left to lowcappers and pros.

Get rid of the 60. Very hard to hit those things well. I got one for free in September, but replaced it with a 58 within a few months, for two reasons. First, my coach absolutely hates 60 degree wedges, but is fine with a 58. The second and bigger reason is that my short game has improved drastically. I am much more consistent with the 58. My PW, GW, SW and LW are now 45, 50, 54 and 58 degrees respectively, but I alternate between the 54 and 58.

Amen! Too subjective. Gotta go with what you have experienced. Example: My 7 iron. 33 degree loft. For me 150-160 yds all day. Now, my 5 hybrid, 28 degree loft. If I choke down slightly, tee the ball up (tee box only) I can cover 160 - 170 yds. Off the deck, 180 yds. Just gotta learn your clubs, a few variations.
