I remember during a clinic last year or year before, the instructor had me hit in front of a launch monitor and said I would likely benefit from lower loft on my driver as I had good swing speed and high ball flight. He cautioned that lowering loft would make my ball flight go more right (fade) I have since replaced the driver and the fitter set the loft at the same loft when I bought it.  My question is with my 3W I most often draw it and my miss is left, would it follow that if I lowered the loft, it would help straighten it out ? It is a 14.5' 3W and I don't have an issue with getting the ball in the air.  I was looking at the adjustment and there is the option to adjust 0.6 or 1 degree in either direction. I suppose I could always take the tool out on course and try it but if it's in my head I will probably compensate.  A friend  and I were discussing this and he said it's the opposite ?

After asking this I was doing some practice into my net, working on a few drills and contact etc and decided to try something.  I sprayed the face of my driver and hit a few balls.  I found the contact was high on the face, even when I try to swing slightly up, which I assume is because I still have a slight downward impact ?  Anyway I adjusted the loft up 1 degree and the contact patch is now a hair above centre which should give a better result but maybe go more left ?   Anyway I tried the same thing with 3W but I hit that thing bang in the centre no matter what I adjust it to.  I managed to get a tee time at the end of the day today for 9 holes and it sounds like I can play alone, so I'm gonna head out there with my wrench and play a few balls and try a few changes.

I’m sorry. That sounds like a terrible problem to have 😜

Now I have to learn to trust the 3W to go straight.  I still hooked a couple but the rest were really good so happy with the change and may even try dropping the loft to 13.5 after playing this for a few rounds..  Not as good for the driver, seems it's still not as reliable as the 3W, just goes further.

With most adjustable clubs, lowering the loft would open the face; increasing the loft would close the face. Tom Wishon has a great video on his site explaining this.
