I mean where can we go from here with this one.. That course is going to be barbaric for the women--just imagine those greens. ANyone have a guess at the winning score??

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

+5 maybe? It isn't going to be set up the same as it was in '07 for the men, so the women don't have to deal with that huge distance. And the women have some fantastic putters.

Agreed. Putting is one of the great equalizers in golf - you can bomb away all day and not win a cent if you can't putt.

yeah most of the women can putt just as good as the men and some even better. i'm sure conditions will not be AS difficult and i believe if the winning score of a major is above par than the course is much too hard than it should be, but then again 20 under par is way too much also

I think the tournaments where the top scores hover above par are more fun to watch for both the men and women. Gives it more excitement knowing that any hole could yield a bad score and knock a player out of contention. And it also makes scoring a birdie that much better of an achievement.

i bet the women's winning score will be lower than the mens.....but not because the course is easier, because they play the course backwards, and use better course management. hopefully the leader doesn't pull a "phil"

Actually, this brings up a good point. As much fun as it is to watch the PGA Tour, there are times I'd rather watch the LPGA Tour. The fact of the matter is, they're closer to my level.

I'm not trying to claim that the LPGA Tour professionals are somehow 20+ handicappers. But look at the PGA Tour. I don't play 7000+ yard courses (yet). I don't hit my pitching wedge 140 yards. I don't hit 300, or even 280, yard drives. 520 yards is a long par-5 for me, not a long par-4. I don't care what the wind and elevation change is, it's a par-5 for me. The courses the LPGA Tour plays are closer to the length of course I'd play. The distances they hit their clubs are much closer to what I either can do or think is feasible in the near future. In short, I can learn more and better my game by watching them. Now, I need to go attend an LPGA Tour event. The Women's Open isn't near me last I checked, but their first major is a short drive away. I may have to head out there in a few weeks.
