I've not heard of it, but the US Am Tour is significantly bigger.

Their web registration is currently broken (or my VPN is blocking it). Anyway the Philadelphia chapter has a full 2021 schedule posted. This tour as far as I can tell has no fee (but that may be revealed during the registration). However to play in a Tournament at a course that costs $99 on the weekend, they are charging $154. I would assume this covers some of the overhead as well as prize money. But no where do I see any mention of prizes/payouts etc.

The US Am Tour appears to be a re-branded Golf Channel Am Tour.

Appreciate both of these posts.  I had played in the golf channel am tour a few years back and just recently started thinking I wanted to get back to competing again but then learned golf channel folded.  These are both perfect and in my area, (la/Orange County) the tours look like perfect compliments to each other.  Similar schedules, but US seems to be more in the fall and Premier is more tournaments coming up in the spring.  I may to give them a shot!

They come no where near me. Even the Metro New York Schedule starts in Florida.

      Day 52: simulator day. Played Old Head and shot an “80,” which was probably more like a 78 in a non-simulator. Then worked on irons for 15 minutes, and may have found a good feel.

      I don't know what to tell you. You can't test wedges with range balls, and you have a LOT more info to gather before you can begin to really even test anything else, either.

      Day 27 - 2026-01-16 Played 18 with some of the usual "too many voices" going on when I'm working on swing stuff. Fun to get out in great bay area winter weather.

      I know one recent college grad who's trying the same thing.  This guy was a Division III All-American, went on to play one year at Division I LSU, and is not working hard.  He won the Gulf States Open, a pro event, and made it to the second stage of the Korn Ferry Tour School late in the fall.  And didn't make the cut to get to the final stage.  I won't talk about swing or play stuff, but I believe there are a couple of things that are essential.  Obviously, talent, and drive, or work ethic.   I can't tell you how to do it, but you HAVE to get through it.  Golf is going to be your life, and it takes lots of work. Two more things that are really critical.  You'll need the facility to be able to practice.  My young friend stayed in Baton Rouge, as a past player on the team he can still use the LSU practice facilities.  And money.  Its unlikely you'll be able to work a full-time job and practice the way you will need to.  You'll probably need backing, from a parent, from a consortium of friends or club members., something to support you. Good luck, its not an easy path, but anything is possible.  Another young man from our area, Mike Brennan, just won for the first time on the "big" PGA Tour.
