I use whatever suits the purpose. Vista/XP for work/development. OS X for video/music/development. Linux for open source apps/development.

I have at least half a dozen notebooks at home, some running VMware, so I'm using at list half a dozen OSes.

Switched to Mac OS at christmas and it is much better than Vista.

It can do everything that a windows OS can do plus a lot more! Also there are a few really simple things that it does that are very good! Eg just highlighting text and dragging it from a webpage into where-ever you want it!

These days, a mac can take care of just about every computing need - It is a unix OS with all command line fu and config/make/install geekery you could possibly want, it will run windows flawlessly via bootcamp or virtualization. You can install linux on a partition, or in a virtual machine or even OS/2 and Solaris x86 if you are into that

If you run X11 you can use all the gui open source apps natively...

I'm about 50/50 between Windows and Linux (Ubuntu). I'm in the process of converting to a higher percentage Ubuntu, but I've been lazy with setting up some details of it. Maybe after this paper deadline.

I have Windows machines all around me at work and home, suits my needs pretty good. If I was more in to doing video, I believe I would prefer to have a Mac. But for my audio/graphics needs these Windows machines handle it pretty well.

Hmm....For the Z-OS and Unix, I didn't mean for personal use. I meant to support thousands of users, say a 50 TB Oracle Application.

Microsoft Windows here. Just because that's what I've always used. The crashes and bugs really interest me too!

Vista at home
