I learned a valuable lesson today at the range....when I get tired I need to stop and go home.

I say this because in the short time I have been playing, I have learned that my swing is all about timing, especially now that I can take divots. When I get tired my hips don't clear and I hook the ball like crazy.

Something I have never experienced yet....lesson learned.

Oh well at least I don't have a bad slice....

Anyone have any tips to stay in rythym? I have tried counting, but I tend to speed the count?

Pick a song that goes with your tempo. when you feel your getting fast or slow hum some in your mind while taking a couple of practice swings.

Maintaining my lag is the key for me. When my ball starts going to the left, I increase the lag in my swing and it straightens out.

Couple questions:

Do you know if your left wrist (if you are a rightie) is staying flat through impact?

Which way do your divots point?

A little right of target when I'm hooking it.....pretty shallow too

yeah thats a good way, if im getting out of rhythm, i simply count 1 at the takeaway.....2 when im swinging through the impact zone in my head, and it seems to work pretty well. and if my tempo gets bad at the range, i'll step off the ball and relax for a couple minutes on a bench or something.

I don't believe it's really timing. Timing can hide what's going on, but it sounds like a flip to me. Fix the flip and the problem probably goes away.

It happens to a lot of people. Its just too much practice..I wouldnt hit soo many full shots in a row...id take a break and putt or chip then hit maybe 10 or 11 full shots in transition

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."
