Much Shorter Backswing - to Combat Early Release and Out-to-in Swing?

I have the problem of out-to-in swing resulting in pulls and slices, with overswing (backswing), and early release (flipping). I have tried many things but it is just too hard to overcome an ingrained bad swing.

Recently, I have tried what I felt like a half swing back swing but in reality it is more like a 3/4 swing. I noticed that it minimizes my pulls and slices and I have better contact. Distance is about the same but with the smaller backswing I instinctively have more lower body turn. Ball trajectories are also lower which means flipping is less of a problem.

I have broke 90 twice in the last two rounds. I hope it is not a fluke. Previously I usually play in the mid to high 90s.

Irons: 0.5 inch short and 2* Flat Mavrik 5 to AW (AW-105, PW-120, 9-135, 8-145) The lofts for these clubs are about 3* to 5* stronger  than standard.

Wedges: Mizuno MP-R series 52* and 56*. (80, 60)

Nickent: 4DX 2 hybrid 17* and 4 hybrid 23* (185 and 170 carry)

3 Wood: Tour Edge XGC 13* (195 carry)

Driver: Callaway FT IZ Driver 9* (210 carry, ~230 total)

You are probably just doing the correct backswing length. It is described in the thread below. I feel it helps with contact because when we overswing, we move too far off the ball and have to recover to make good contact.

Make sure you are practicing properly. Good chances are you probably were trying to do full swings too quickly and didn't do enough slow motion and partial swings for the desired change to stick.
