I have several sets of Ping irons, which all have different color codes.  After some experimentation with the various lie angles, I have determined that blue dots are the best for me.  (I'm 6'5")

My question is this; is it possible to bend i500s from green dots to blue, and as they are flattened, will this impact the loft?  If I'm not mistaken, when you bend irons more upright, doesn't it take a little loft off?  If this is true, this would be ideal, because the i500s are Power Spec, and I would like them to be closer to the standard loft.

Furthermore, are there local Ping fitters around the country that can do this, or will I have to send them back to Ping to have this done?

Loft and lie are completely independent specs. Changing one will not change the other. Changing loft will change the offset amount however just fyi.

You are best served sending them to Ping for adjustments. Ping irons are very difficult to bend.

I’m 6’7” and I play 1° upright (1” long). @Adam C is correct that loft and lie are completely independent specs. Though you bend the same hosel to change said specs. Ping irons are made of a very hard Stainless steel alloy that is not very ductile. Softer cast stainless such as 304, 431, and 17-4 is a little more ductile and will bend easier than the alloy PING uses.

As Adam stated I would consult with PING about a lie change. They will bend them for you and change the color code of your irons.
