An interesting video on some VFX Artists trying to figure out what the human eye specs would be if they were a camera.

I like this channel a lot. I watch a lot of the stuntman react and VFX Artist react videos. You learn a lot about how things are done in movies. I really like when they try to figure out how old effects are done.

So what are the specs? 🙂

And by that, I don't mean spec(tacle)s!

I don't know about that one. I don't see my clubhead hit the ball, but I can at 240 FPS.

But that's on replay, of course. Not played BACK at 500 (or 240) FPS. That's just the one that feels the "weirdest" to me.

Yea, I think so as well.

I think a decent average is around 75 FPS. Theoretical limit is at 500 FPS. There was some testing done by the air force on how fast they can flash an image and have the pilots still recognize the type of plane. Pilots might have higher than normal eye acuity.

Can confirm this one! We do a lot of testing of our architectural renderings against what “feels real” to people, and 30-35mm field of view is consistently the closest.

And this is where the human eye CRUSHES any camera ever made.

My wife and I got a little into photography for a bit several years ago and I could've sworn we learned at the time that 50mm was the best length for portraits because it was the closest match to our eyes.  I must be remembering wrong - since we kinda also got out of photography a while back too haha. 🙂
