He changed the whole In-Season protocol. It’s less heavy lifting and more speed and power.

Oh.  Cool.  I'll stick with the new in-season work while my season is still in effect and I'll switch to the heavier lifting come October.

I’ve been doing the Mobility 3 warmup every day this week. It doesn’t loosen you up.

Mike Carroll did a blog post about speed training and when to do it in conjunction with resistance training. He suggests doing the speed work the same day as resistance training either just before or earlier in the day.

You need to be fresh to do speed training and may not be fresh enough the day after resistance training to get any benefit. I will start working on that and report back.

Moved into Power Plan from Winter Strength this week. Power Plan uses some of the same exercises like squats and dead lifts, but uses less weight and fast motion. I emailed Mike Carroll asking how much less and he suggested 20% lower weight.

I also started up SuperSpeed again and will do it before the workout as Mike recommended. Speed work needs to be done when you are fresh.

    • Day 72 - 2024-12-11 /sees a picture of Chet after shaving with a saw, goes back to doing a little mirror work at AMG.
    • Day 147: more mirror work. Trying to hone in the backswing stuff real nice.
    • If I was going to try to help someone fix a low snap hook without actually seeing their swing I would have to tell them to break down the problem into pieces. See if you can fix the "low" part of the problem first. A low ball flight tells me you are probably swinging level or hitting down on the ball instead of hitting up on it. Try teeing the ball higher than you are comfortable and put the ball up in your stance a little further up than comfortable...try putting it off your left heal or even the left toe. Try to feel like your club head is swinging up through impact. Try that first and see if it gets you to a high snap hook or a high pull hook.    If you want to address the hook part of the swing you are going to have to look at two areas of the swing as well as your concept of what the arms and hands do through impact. I love talking through this stuff with people but I'll only go into it further if you really want to go down that rabbit hole...you would have to say so. Swing well my friend!
    • Hello everyone! I haven't been on a golf forum in many years...since the old 4gea days if I remember right. Love to talk swing mechanics and hope to meet up for some range time and golf with others if possible. Been in Houston for a year now but haven't managed my way out on the course anywhere. I hope to change that in 2025. Hit 'em hard everybody!
    • Day 6: Worked with 6-iron, same stuff; neutral grip, centered turn. Feeling a bit lost right now, but have a lesson booked in about 10 days.
