That was sweet last night.
Only 4 or 5 groups to get in.
No stars on board.

We actually saw people like Stephen Ames, Brandt Snedeker and Brian Bateman hit shots.
This is way more fun than following the leaders only for the whole day and watch putting 80% of the time.

I liked golf coverage better when there were cameras only on the last 5 or 6 holes.
You got to see everybody way back then.

Best, Mike Elzey

I didn't watch the golf last night, I fell asleep. But what your saying is true, the coverage of golf recently has been very biased towards the leaders and putting, more variety in what golfers we see can only be good for the viewer.

I agree I thought the coverage was pretty good. I have one complaint - I would like to see more of Steve Stricker? He was -2 for awhile and I think I saw him once - putting for dbl bogey

"When I play with him, he talks to me on every green. He turns to me and says, 'You're away.' "
-Jimmy Demaret referring to Ben Hogan

Only could stand one hour, which included less than 10 minutes of golf play. My personal opinion is that coverage is awful and will continue to be so unless there are two or three players in close contention on the back nine on Sunday. Only then will they stop showing human interest films, interview, history lessons and commentator babble more than 75% of the time on air and start covering actual live play.

I wonder if anyone connected with the TV coverage has ever considered that viewers might want to watch the players play golf. Further, I too want to see more time on all shots, not just the putts.

I went to bed at 1:14am - right after Westwood holed his last putt. A great day's golf watching!

Coverage on BBC is improving but still awful imo in the UK.

Sky coverage when they have their own cameras AND host broadcaster cameras is where it is at.

The WGC events and Ryder Cup.

I'd have to agree with the OP on this one. ESPN's coverage was great. Anyone notice the amount of ambient noise on ESPN compared with CBS? All the birds tweeting along, the occaisional wind gusts...I loved it. Made me feel like I was there :)
