Hey everyone,

I just signed up for one of the Solstice Survival events here in the mid-atlantic area of the US.

It's 54 holes in one day on a pretty decent track ( Blue Ridge Shadows )--I've played 36 about three times (four after tomorrow) but nothing like this.

anyone on here squeeze in a quick 54 before work?

I've done 63 holes in one day, but that was back in the late 70's. There wasn't near as many people playing, so my parents would drop me off in the morning, and pick me up after work. My dad played 72 holes in one day, and I was always trying to match that but never did.

I thought my now-weekly 36 on Monday was pushing it. But wow, this looks awesome!

My brother and me walked 36 holes once about 20 yrs ago. We were pretty tired after it was over. I walked 27 a couple of days ago. Thought I was gonna die. I could probably play 54 riding but that's still a lot of golf for one day.

Hey I just signed up fyi!

I have played golf a couple of years, ever since I was 6-7 years old. I think I have done 54 holes a day like 10-15 times. You know when I was 13-15 I was really active during the summers here in Sweden.

Made me tired just thinkin about it . I have walked 27 many times and rode 36 a bunch. I'm not sure I could do 54 and feel like it was a quality effort.

Believe it or not I've managed 72 in a day. Me and a high school buddy did it a few years ago. We weren't playing fast and even had a few people join us along the way, but we basically had the course to ourselves for the first couple rounds and it was moving very smoothly later in the day. Started around 8 AM and finished just after sunset.

I've done 54 in a day twice.

The first was in San Diego at The Auld Course, played it 3 times.

The second was in Alabama. Played the Lake and the Links at Grand National, then drove 1.5 hours and played the Judge in Prattville.

I've also played a pseudo-54: Lake and Links at Grand National (both championship courses) followed by 18 holes on their par-3 course.

I don't even remember being too tired either time. I almost always walk, but I rode all three rounds those two days.

My absolute best advice to you is to get plenty of sleep the night before (at least 8 hours), eat a very good breakfast, stretch really well, and drink a ton of water while you play. Hitting it really close on your approaches will help a lot too. Spending an excessive amount of time of the putting greens will fatigue you the most it seems, both physically and mentally.
