Anyone have problem with pure grip twisted after a round of golf? After tried out a few pure grips “pure combo”, I like the material and ordered the rest to complete all my clubs. I also ordered some pure pro to try out. Past Wednesday after a round of golf I noticed the logo and alignment mark is not where is should be. I thought I didn’t install correctly but upon more investigation most of the grips were twisted, some more some less. I can even twisted the grips around just with my fingers/hand. I air install the grip with one layer of blue tape.

The short answer is No.

A couple of things. Firstly, I use midsize grips not standard, so that may be a factor.

First question is did you put them on graphite or steel shafts? (I don't think it should matter, but maybe.)
Were your shafts clean and dry when you installed the grips?

Last question, what color were they. (Again, not sure that matters.)

I've been using Pure Grips for about 3 years now. I have no tape at all on the shafts and I haven't experienced any twisting at all.

Hmmm.....🤔

It hasn’t happened to me either. Are you using any tape on the shaft or just bare metal?

I have only installed about 10 sets with air and just one with Pure Grips and never had a grip slip. That said, when I have installed .6 grips on .58 using tape and solvent, if I did not build up the grips with at least 3-4 layers of tape the grip felt too small and I might have had a few move.

Since you installed with air you could test on a grip or two in about 5 minutes.

Good luck. I know that is frustrating.

I use a duct tape backing (one-sided). When you do grip installation without double-sided tape… it should be really tightly fit. If they're not really tightly fit, or if the friction between the grip and whatever is on the shaft… it can twist as you make swings.

So either build up the shaft a bit more or use a "stickier" (without being the actual sticky side of tape) substance on the grip, like duct tape or electrical tape, not masking tape or painter's tape.

Thanks @iacas I was thinking also the blue painter tape might be the cause. Doesn’t matter one layer or +4, steel shaft or graphite. I believe all my shaft (ping G30) are 600 just one of my loft is 580 which I add about 4 layer of tape plus +4 on lower hand.

Try one with duct tape and grip stay on better. It is a little bit harder to install compare to gliding on blue tape. BTW pure pro materials is very thin compared to pure combo at the top part.
show. how I can twist the grip after installed with +4 blue tape.

    • Yeah, their experiences with the Edel stuff does NOT match my own. Golfers shouldn't need to practice alignment, and golfers can't align a line on a ball very accurately either. Just a bunch of hooey in those posts up there, IMO and experience.
    • The exact same for me. Although I think I was more like 20 inches right of the hole, but yeah, same thing.  I'm telling you, the LAB putter people are a cult. The only thing in golf I've ever seen similar to this is The PROV1 cult. "Raise your right and swear; I will only play PROV1's, no matter if my handicap is north of 30 and I loose 9 golf balls per round." They are like Starbucks fans or I-phone people who refuse to admit the competition might be better as some stuff.  I have very literally heard people at the driving range talking about putters and bringing up "The Revealer". Saying things like "Have you seen how much putter X spins in The Revealer? ... You gotta get a LAB putter."  The other thing I find fascinating is the number of people who say something like "LAB putters are individually custom built, they aren't massed produced. That's why they cost so much." It is as if everyone of them is as unique as a fingerprint. 🤷‍♂️ I gotta give LAB all the credit in the world. Their marketing department has done wonders. Image what "The Hammer" could have been if it had been marketed by LAB.  I haven't liked any of the LAB Putters I've tried. If you do like them, that's great. But please put down the Kool-Aid: Don't join the cult.
    • I thought this was an interesting discussion about someone asking about how lines impact aiming and LAB creator’s response. They were specifically asking about an Edel fitting. I don’t know what he was expecting posting this in a LAB forum. Why would you want to have to “work” on your aiming or overcome an aiming issue? I go to the eye doctor every year and they’ve said for the past 10 years your eyesight hasn’t changed. Am I missing something when he says it “changes all the time”?    I did an Edel fitting and went from aiming a foot right to spot on. I don’t use a line on the ball any longer and can just step up and putt knowing where I’m looking and where I’m aiming match. It changed my whole perspective on putters. I’d be fearful now of buying a putter just based off what I think looks good because I’d always be worried if I’m aiming where I’m looking.
