I sent this putter into the Custom Shop for the Custom Shop stamp and my initials and this is what I got back. I feel that for $60 the stamp and initials should have been centered bettter on the toe.

So I have two questions

1. What's your thoughts on this? Am I being unreasonable here?
2. Has anyone ever returned or had a custom job repaired with Scotty?

I would give them a call and see what is up wiht the off centered letters. It would have looked pretty cool if it was centered. Let me know what happens cause that might change my mind from sending my putter in.

Arent all his letters always like that? The white box being off center would bother me though.

It's my understanding that Scotty's initials are always like this. If you wanted special instructions, I think there's a place to add them.

What white box? If you're referring to the GSS insert... that's how they are, too. That existed prior to the putter being sent in.

Have you contacted the shop yet, if so what did they say?

Visually I'd say the letters should be aligned with the "titleist" on the left...

I thought he got everything on the face minus the titleist engraved. I guess that is why i couldnt see anything wrong. Every custom SC I have ever seen has been the same way. I need to post up some pictures of mine/my dads putter collection. 150 plus putters. I will do it this week and make a post.

You can expect a full writeup in the near future on this, but for now, have a look. I couldn't be happier, really.

My baby!

I miss her, but am glad to see she is in great shape. It's amazing the job they did in restoration.

Fairways and Greens.

Wow Erik, that is gorgeous. So the work on yours to being it up to that was also $60? Did you get to choose the color of the paint fill (lime green?) it's gor-geous!

No, the work on mine was more like $220. I have the full list somewhere... but a lot of the expense was stupid stuff, like the green grip and the green headcover. I think those were $60 just to themselves.

Well gang, here's the reply I got back from Titleist/SC

I am not sure if you are aware but the stamps are done by hand. That is how Scotty has done them from Day 1. He does that for the PGA Tour the same way he has done it for your putter. In looking at your picture to be honest the initials and stamp look perfect. The location is based on the area where the most metal is available to us. In this case we feel the job is excellent. It will never look like the rest of the markings on your putter because they are done by machine. The hand stamping adds a unique and special look to your putter. Thanks Cameron Services

1. Yes I knew the stampings were done by hand.

2. Funny that they mention stamping where there's the most metal because I've seen many other stampings on other putters that weren't in thick metal. 3. I guess my definition of perfect will always differ. To me perfect has a lot to do with alignment. I have a couple other Scotty's that I'll send in for refinishing like Erik did and I'm fully confidant that those will turn out beautiful. I'll also be sending a non-Scotty putters out to a different place and hopefully will have a review of that in the future. Stay tuned!

I couldn't agree with Iacas anymore. Scotty Does great work. If someone isn't happy with the work that comes out of that shop, it's probably because they didn't explain what they wanted properly.

Check out my ads on kijiji in any of the major canadian cities including Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Ottawa. Type in Golf Clubs, Titleist Scotty Cameron and you'll find my ads that are for my refinishing business that I'm starting. If you look at the pics of my wedges and putters that I've done you'll be impressed, guaranteed.
