I am not trying to one up you, I do agree with you. I am curious to hear how it went for him. I hope moving the ball will help him.

Greg,

Hopefully you got your swing problems in check.

Not to go off topic, but I just have to say one thing. Your avatar creeps me out. Bad picture? I dunno. Put up an action picture of you swinging.

to be honest i don't think anyone here can fix his problem just from what he wrote. i think he needs a more detailed description of his set up ,swing plane type (one, two, or even etc.) and a description of his swing (to make sure he has the fundamentals down).
until you have all the info, you can't trouble shoot.

its like asking, "how come my computer is so slow??"

make sure to watch weight transfer as well. when i am fading or slicing the ball, its usually because i am hanging on my back foot at the finish and not getting the weight forward

The ball goes to the right...

I definitely recommend the more forward ball position. With the ball back in the stance the club, arms, and body haven't had time to swing to a position that is square to the target.

Looks at the pros hitting drivers in the picture below. All of them have the ball in a forward position: http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/254...ballposdg0.jpg
