I bought an Edel putter ten years ago, paid for both it and the fitting.  I'm glad I did.  The best part of it isn't the design;  it's the fact that at least I know my equipment isn't the issue when I have poor putting.  I can see, in a different life, being something of a club collector, so at least I'm not getting a bunch of putters every time I have a poor performance putting.  Although I'm probably getting a new putter cover, my current one is showing signs of age.  I just have to find one I like.

I have an Edel putter too and I like it.

This one, however, is a "rare" putter. They are only making 25 of them.

Personally, I don't see the point of this particular "rare" model. I'm not sure what putting, Edel and the moon all have in common. This one's weird to me.

Normal Edel putters are $250 to $350.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

I don't see the appeal of a rare putter either, and I'm not sure I spent $700 on putters total, unless we're counting the fitting fee for my Edel, and even then just barely.  I do have a few putters, maybe one could be described as rare.   I have a Ping Anser I started with;  that was the one I used when I first broke 100.  That's not the rare one.

I have one from a brand called Fisher that a friend gave (or sold?) me.  That was the one I used when I first broke 90.

The first bought-new-for-me putter I ever bought is when Cleveland had the <$100 milled putters.  I forget the name.  I own a semi-mallet of those.  At least, I own it in theory:  my mother really likes that one and uses it.

I also have one from Maltby that I assembled back a dozen years ago or so when I thought that was the cool thing to do.  It's a fine enough putter.  I think my brother in law might use it if he takes up golf.

I have a Mantis putter.  I think I got that from either a TST outing or as part of a TST member review.  I think I used that to win a lot of match play events at my club.  In fact, I think the last round I played with it was my club's match play (our match play event and club championship are different events) finals a decade ago, as shortly after that my Edel came in.

I don't think I realized until just now that I've owned six putters.

I don't know what I'd do with a seventh of any sort (maybe a clone of my current Edel to leave somewhere else?).  A rare putter, which seems to cost as much as I have spent on putters since taking up golf two decades ago, would feel like an odd purchase;  I'm not sure what I'd do with it.  Playing with a rare item wouldn't feel right to me, but maybe I'm weird that way.  Leaving it on a display case would seem weird too, but I'm not much of a memorabilia collector of anything.

    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
    • I have access to far more data (including surveys and polls) than you do with your anecdotes. I mean this as plainly and literally as possible: you’ve demonstrated that you do not. They would, one way or the other.
    • Yes, but you don't live in the UK, so you have no idea what we think about it here. It's a very different mindset here, to demonstrate the fact you should consider 9 out of 10 games we play here are Stableford, whereas you you almost solely play medal. Neither is right or wrong, it's just different  I'm trying to avoid swearing here. Once again, and for the 1000th time, I understand the system, I just don't agree with it. Is there anything wrong with that? PS, I do not have the time or patience to post my results, especially as they prove nothing  That's because 99% of the posters are Yanks
