I get both Golf World and Golf Week at professional rate. If I had to pick one, Golf Week would clearly be the one. If you haven't already subscribed, I'll see what I can do for you, Erik.

Jack, I got an offer for 49 issues for $43.61 (and 2 sleeves of Pro V1's)..is this a good deal? tempted.

I think that's about as low as they go, so... that is a good deal... especially if you play Pro V1's :)

i get golf digest and i like it, usually i gloss over the tips cuz most of the stuff i've heard before...and they have drills and stuff that would work if i wasnt so lazy. but the articles are interesting, i usually have to pace myself cuz i'll read it all the first day i get it, so i dont know what u guys mean by it being too big, and it is a monthly not weekly like the other ones.

I like the golf mags that just show you cool places to play and all the lastest gear. I'm not really into all the instruction. My favorites would be "The Golfer" and "Links".

My wife got me a sub to Golf Magazine, and i buy Golf Illustrated. I like them both. I'll reread them often, sometimes just for the ads & reviews for equipment etc, and then for the tips.

I like Golf Digest. I'm really into more of the players on Tour and what they're doing. I also like some of the "Top Ten Best Golf Moments" (or whatever) articles. I tend to skip the instruction.

Anyone know of a monthly magazine that focuses more on the Tour and possibly historical players/matches, etc? I'd love to know what's out there. Barnes and Noble only carries a few golf magazines I don't care for.

I've always enjoyed GolfWorld, but the popularity of the internet has really hurt that magazine and some of the others. A lot of the stories in GolfWorld or GolfWeek have already been published online at various places. I loved the magazine in high school when I had not computer or internet, but none of them are too great now.

I'd still go with GolfWorld as my fave though.

I'm a big fan of Golf Week. They are more in depth with each tour and give alot of stats. Not to mention that I get it every week instead of reading Golf Digest in one day and having to wait 29 days for the next issue. I also get Golf, and Golf Tips. I'm thinking of subscribing to Golf World.

Similar to other responses, I subscribe (and pay) for Golfworld to keep up with the Tour players and the articles on golfers, events, etc. But I also get Golf Digest (usually free through some promotion for buying spikes, or something) and read it for the instructional stuff, new equipment reviews, golf travel features, and occasional article on Golf Personalities. I occasionally read GolfWeek as our club has a subscription and it's an easy read over lunch.

So what is the best magazine if I want to keep up mainly with the Tour?

Also, anyone ever seen this magazine? www.golfpunkonline.com ? It's kind of the "FHM" or "Maxim" of golf mags. Definitely aimed at the younger golfing demographic. I'm personally a fan of the hot chicks in "golf attire" (basically bikinis + a golf glove). Lol. Good interviews, too, though.

You've got that right.

My favorites are Golf Week & Golf World, neither of which I subscribe to. For some ridiculous reason I've been receiving Virginia Golfer, continuously for years and years, in the mail although I moved out of Virginia in '97 . . . I think it must a freebie that gets sent to everyone whose USGA handicap is through the VSGA, but I can't even begin to guess why they keep sending it to me. It is a pretty interesting magazine and I am always happy when I check my mailbox and find the latest (free) issue of Virginia Golfer.
