Lately, I've been having a lot of trouble walking. The past 2 days I've walked to work at a fast pace and My right knee is causing some pain. Also when I put my hand to my hip bone I can feel almost as if the bone is coming out of place, or at least moving around and hitting other things, Every few steps I get a huge shot of pain through my leg to my hip.

This other problem has been with me for awhile, and I'm wondering if any of you have had this as well: When I squat down to read a putt, I feel some slight pressure pain on my knees, and when I come back up, I hear like thousands of little cracks in my knees. I have no idea what it is, but it scares me and causes some pain.

I know you all aren't doctors, but I heard this type of thing is kind of common. Would anyone be able to suggest or maybe even guess what kinds of problems these are?

BTW: I'm 16, I'm guessing its a little bit of Arthritis, but I don't want that at such a young age.

as a woman who is a little bit older than you, but not by much, i wouldnt worry about the pain in your knees too much. i get that a lot, but it's not arthritis. i think that it just happens from standing a lot... i would try some yogo stretches.

What are yogo stretches, if you could explain a little more that would be great. I'd like to try that out.

As long as the pain isnt excrutiating or chronic, than Id say its normal wear and tear from excessive golfing.

BTW, excessive golfing is a good thing

If it bothers you that much, go see a doctor. Theres no reason to live with pain, especially at such a young age.
Besides, if you leave a little problem untreated now, it could become a major problem later in life.
IMO, when it comes to medical stuff, ignoring the pain and putting off having it looked it is never a good idea.

I would go see a "sports specific" doctor. Here is why:

Back when I was 20 (I am 25 now) I had a motocross accident. I fell off the back and hyper extended my right knee. I went to the doctor and he said it was just sprained and told me, get this, to take a bucket, fill it with sand and do leg curls!! I was like WTF. I did the curls and I still had problems. I went to a doctor that specializes in sports injuries and he did an MRI. Sure enough, torn ACL. This was when I was 22. So 2 years went by and I was walking on a torn ACL. Not really a story related to yours just wanted to explain my opinion about a sports specific doctor.

I would go get your knee(s) looked at. They will be able to tell if something is wrong. Better to catch it now than wait.

Good luck.

To be honest Dent, given your age its most likely growing pains - I wouldn't worry about it.

That's what I always though it was too, but I've never really gotten them up there.

The best thing to do is see a doctor I'm guessing, I shouldn't be feeling pain when I'm walking.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
