The problem I had with Anthony Kim is that, when he made the original comments, he'd yet to do much on the PGA Tour. Two wins this year have gone a long ways towards justifying his cockiness. Granted, both were at non-Tiger tournaments, but if he keeps playing well he'll knock Tiger off in a few tournaments next year and for years afterwards.

Yes, I agree that he definately has the talent to warrant a little swagger, unlike ... certain others. And the whole "omfg he's the next Tiger!!!" thing does irk me a little.

Whats in the bag:

Driver: Nike Ignite 460cc 10.5* Fujikura Ignite reg flex
Fairway woods: Howson tour master power series 3,5 woods
Irons: MacGregor M675 3-PW DG S300 Wedges: Mizuno MP-R Black Nickel 54.10, 60.05Putter: Pinfire Golf P4Ball: Titleist NXT TourHome Course:http://www.golfarmagh.co.uk/...

I watch golf for the entertainment and I like having characters like Sabbatini, Austin, and Ian Poulter (he's fun to make fun of) around but the difference with Anthony Kim is he is backing it up with stellar play. There is a different swagger about him. I like it and love watching him play. Big congrats on two big wins. The next Tiger Woods thing is ridiculous, as it is every time the media does this. I get so sick of it. But they have put most of their eggs in one basket and need someone to step up and be the anti Phil Mickelson star appeal in his absence. Step right up Mr. Anthony Kim.

Also, as he says, he is making the right decisions on and off the golf course. Such as better course management and reducing the number of vodka tonics.

Driver: 09 Launcher 10.5

Kudos to Anthony Kim. He played really well and IMO he deserved to win. I was hoping Stricker would have at least made it interesting, but that didnt happen.
I havnet seen much of Anthony Kim, but I didnt think he came across as cocky at all. He definetly had a cool confidence about him, but I wouldnt call him cocky.
IMO, to compete at the top level of any sport, you have to be at least a little bit cocky.

Kim was bombing it but if you were following them did you see Holmes drive on 17? 360!!!

I saw it...359 and all he got out of it was a par.

Anyways, I do agree with all those stating that it is too early to be labeling him as the next Tiger or even as a huge contender. Even Anthony Kim wasn't cocky enough to state that. I believe in one of his interviews he said he needed to win 13 more majors to start worrying Tiger. He is fun to watch and it should be interesting to see him play at the British.

I finally got a chance to watch my DVR'd final round of the AT&T; (I think I've developed a knack for avoiding the news so as not to spoil the surprise). Man, I just knew this kid was gonna be real good this year after seeing him play pretty decently last year (the only difference is now he keeps his composure on the weekends).

I agree with most of you on holding off on comparisons to Tiger... but his swing just looks soooooo sweet, it brings a tear to my eye - gotta love that Konica Minolta Bizhub Superinflatable Wacky wavy armed tubeman swingvision.

He's definitely a bit cocky, but for lack of a better phrase - he talks the talk, and he certainly walks the walk.

Look for him to get his ass handed to him at the British tho. Unless he's able to make the right adjustments after day 1, he has no chance. The PGA on the other hand...

:P

I saw last night where he'll have a Playing Lessons on TGC in August, and they played a snippet from his swing with the driver. He claims to have minimal waist and hip movement, and gets most of his power from his upper torso rotation (if I understood him correctly). Should be a decent show.
