I try to keep the same grips on all of my clubs but it never works out that way. I do however always have the same type of grip on all of my clubs, for as long as I can remember I have always used cords grips so whilst sometimes I will have different brands or models, they are always cord and they are always the same size.

I do my own regripping when required and when I buy some new grips I generally get about 20 of them in the same brand and model, the last few times they have been Lamkin soft cords. About once a year I regrip the lot including any clubs I swap in and out. Because I practice with my wedges and 6 and 7 iron a lot, they get regripped probably twice a year so they sometimes end up different, plus if I buy a new driver or 3 wood for example I'll keep the same grip on it if it is the correct size and type so over the course of a year you end up with odd grips here and there.

I grip everything with Golf pride Tour Velvets. Not my favorite, not the best and somewhat antiquated. But they are always in stock everwhere I go, so I never have to deal with "well we only have 9 of these grips." Only exception is a green Lamkin dual durometer on my driver, but that is just a mojo thing.

Changing grips depends on play. While I try to keep the same grips on all clubs (except the putter), it's dependent on whether or not the shop has enough of the same grip. So far, I have been lucky!

There is nothing like new grips.

I like softer and tackier Winn grips on my wedges and putter...as I like to have a consistent feel around the greens. Cords on my irons for the harder feel. Golf Pride tour velvets on the driver/woods/hybrids.

Technically speaking I have all the same. I have not gotten around to changing my driver grip, but all the rest are the same. Of course, that is excluding the putter.

They are all the same: Winn Xi7 with 2 extra wraps of tape. I love these grips. They are just soft enough to be comfortable without giving up feel.

I've experimented quite a bit this year with grips. I have Oversized Winn grips, the squishy--soft kind that no one seems to like--on my Nickent square head, and my 3i rescue. I can keep a very relaxed grip, all the way thru my swing with absolutely no slipping. Also, they take out a lot of the shock--especially on my rescue when I'm in the thick stuff. But that club slides thru rough like butter anyhow.

I have medium tour velvets on one set of irons. . .Oversized tour velvets on a couple 3woods and a driver.

I also have Winn PCI hybrids on my irons, Xi7's on my fairway woods, and trying the DSI on a couple other clubs.

SO, no, I do not have the same grip on all my clubs,

i'm going to go with Winn X17's on my woods and Tour Velvets on all my irons/wedges. I'm going to do more wraps of tape on the right hand side of the grip.

too much tape will change your swing weight so measure first. build up too much butt weight, you'll need a tip plug to counter it.

    • To flog this subject even further, if that's even possible, this article from Golf Monthly just appeared today in one of my news feeds. Written by a golf writer in the UK who I never heard of, he's basically saying that there should be only 3-5 rounds from the most recent 20 that should count towards the average and only competitive rounds should count. He claims the erratic scorers would have less of an advantage than they do now. He makes a lot of references to "club golfers" in the UK being the ones who are mostly dissatisfied. https://share.google/qmZZBEoJvOxHxJGil  In my experience with my league where we have golfers with indexes ranging from 5 to 40, looking at the weekly results from the past two years, I can detect no pattern that would substantiate the claim that the current system gives an unfair advantage to either erratic golfers (aren't we all?) or higher handicappers. Apparently though, at least in the UK, this seems to be "a thing."
