why does my reputation get dropped 4 points magically?

i really don't get why my rep. dropped 4 points today out of nowhere for no reason. does anyone else get that?

I know they recently adjusted the rep system, maybe that had something to do with it.

The rep system was changed. A lot of peoples' reputation dropped a bit.

its like feedback on ebay...... would you rather buy from a person with no feedback or negative feedback or rather deal with a person with positive feedback who you feel safer dealing with?

and i guess helps sort out the good and bad eggs

And to CG031, you've got a partial answer already, and the more complete answer is that it helps to notify people who are stellar forum members as well as people who are bad seeds.

0-5 = Registered User (can't start a thread in the Marketplace, etc.)
5+ = Established Member (if you meet the other requirements)
And everyone starts at 10...

No. It has little to do with frequency. If you make one post a month but it's an awesome one, your reputation (and thus reputation power) might be higher than someone who posts 400 lame posts per month.

I here ya. People don't like our opinions and abuse their use of the reputation rating. Giving someone negative reputation because they make a comment you don't agree with is childish and stupid.

Can you really not just ignore it? I do when reading posts. I don't care if a person has a negative reputation...I'm still going to read the post for what it is.

He has a point there. Most people forget about Positive Rep. Or are afraid to use it incase they are using it for the wrong reasons.
