I am considering getting fitted, I heard the following are important factors in getting fitted:

Lie angle
club length
shaft flex
grip size

Each individual clubs are fitted:

Driver
Irons
Wedges
Putter

1) Has anybody gone through this fitting process and what were the results with your game after the fitting?
2) Where did you go and how much did cost?

Thanks in advance for your replies

I was fitted in March-ish when I was a 28 handicap. I'm currently a 15. I think it gave me some confidence and encouraged me to play more and work a little harder.

I had driver, irons, and putter modified/fitted.

I got my driver fitted for me. 10.5* and Regular flex gave me the best for carry, and spin and all that stuff. They also suggested I cut it down to 44.5" since I am only 5'7" (the shaft is stock at 45.75")

I was fitted last October and it was worth every penny. ($250) The company I went to asked how I currently play and what I wanted out of my golf game. We began the process by fitting me for a putter. After about 20 minutes, the results were I needed a heavier putter and raised a couple of degrees. We then went through my entire bag including wedges. I hit multiple shafts for my irons and driver. The irons were all set to a D4 swingweight and my driver shaft was pured, too. It plays to a D7 swingweight. My wedges were extended and re-grooved.

Just knowing that I was playing with the right equipment made me more confident. I recommend a fitting for those people who play and practice, frequently.

I went to the same group - Max Out Golf. I had been fit for shaft flex and length when I got my Mizuno Irons, and it was an OK fitting, surely better than the wrong size clubs. But it was between a handful of stock shafts. I got fit for shafts for all my clubs, plus a new driver, through them a few weeks ago. I'm going to get my clubs re-shafted soon - before the end of summer. I already had my 3 re-shafted, and I hit it much better and farther: it's a much higher quality steel shaft now.

I have a fitting session tomorrow, and I am a bit curious about how long a fitted set of irons will last me. I'm 16, and in the process of growth spurts. Can I expect to keep the same set of irons for a couple of years, or will a new fitting session be needed?

I was fitted for every club in my bag other than the putter. I guess I have felt if I am going to spend this kind of money on golf clubs, I want them set up for my game. But to be honest, I havent noticed much of a difference. I think it is very important to get clubs that fit you. I am 1 degree upright with my swing, so all my irons were adjusted that way.

I was fitted for my irons and driver. My hybrids were off the shelf as were my wedges. It was just a semi fitting for the putter, my teaching pro watched me on the putting green just to check shaft length. Between the equipment and lessons I knocked 6 shots off my handicap.

I was fitted for the driver shaft I'm currently using. I love it.

I was fitted for my Ping i10 irons but it turned out the original shaft (AWT-S) didn't work out. Too high a ball flight and too much spin. I switched to the x100's and am very satisfied.

I didn't have a wedge fitting specifically when I bought the irons, but I changed the makeup when I changed the shafts. I went from a 51, 56, 60 (all Tour-W wedges) to a 50 (i10), 54 and 58 (Tour-W's)...all with x100's.

It took me a couple months to dial them in but I'm currently playing my best golf.

I may go for a putter fitting especially after switching to the Utley arc method in July. My Ping Piper H (35", black dot) appeared to be correct when checking in a ground level mirror. The stroke was so new that I figured a fitting wouldn't do any good. I now have the stroke grooved and will probably get a more accurate fitting.

    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
    • Day 128 12-18 Worked on rotation and getting to lead side. Still working on the flow feeling while doing that. Recorded swings.
    • IMO-the only thing entertaining was the relay race. Everything else was excruciatingly boring...or just  stupid, like the 14-club thing. Watching guys blade wedges into the water over and over is not at all interesting.
