Doesn't seem to be doing anything since he switched to cavity-backs!

Seriously, apart from two wins this year, this guy was meant to be going onto big things, Major-wise, but this year he's done jack:

He won 2x right? That's saying quite a bit.... hell there'sonly how many pga winners ina year? I don't think he's played upto his potential or his hype ttyt, and Ithink he need to show better in the majors that's for sure..

I like Adam and his swing, but I do think he should be playing better more often...

He's a great ballstriker but I really think his putting holds him back at times.

Completely agree, he should be playing more often.

I think Adam Scott's biggest problem is that he doesn't gear his game toward major championships. He seems to be content with winning tournaments and making the top of the money list. Compare him to Sergio Garcia. They're the same age, and they have almost identical career resumes. Sergio, though, is clearly focused on winning major championships: even though he hasn't sealed the deal just yet, he has come very close on many occasions, and the casual observer can see that it is only a matter of time that Garcia does win one. Adam Scott, however, has not given the appearance that major championships are all that important (at least not moreso than any other tournament), and while he's mostly been making cuts, he seems to be stuck in the middle of the pack on Sunday. I can't say that Adam is on the cusp of breaking through on golf's biggest stages, like I can with Garcia.

I agree with the "play more" idea. He just doesn't seem to put 110% into his game.

He goes home and takes a week off from golf so he can hang at the beach and surf. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to do that! But if I were ranked in the top 5 to 10, I'd put a lot more effort into getting closer to the top.

I think he's complacent, but he doesn't seem to get upset about it. I honestly think he's "okay" with his game. That's the problem.

He needs an intensity about him, some kind of fire, like Padraig. When Paddy gets close, he can smell it. ANd he moves in for the kill.

I'm pretty sure I've heard Adam say that he actually would like to surf more than golf. No wonder he's not winning majors.

To us, it may be frustrating that he would rather surf than play golf. In all reality, however, that's his choice and right. If he wants to win a few million a year playing golf and jack around the rest of the time, then so be it. I can respect that. Not every golfer eats, sleeps, and breathes the game like others, and Adam Scott may be that kind of guy.

Still, it's pretty frustrating as a fan because he should have multiple major wins right now.

He was also injured for a good bit of this year as well. Missed The Memorial, played the U.S. Open hurt, and didn't play again until the British.

I like his swing, as well as Luke Donald's swing. It seems like when I watch him (Adam), he misses a lot of putts that you need to make on that level of play. I'm sure it gets disheartening when you hit it that well, but don't get the results because of a balky putter.

Heh heh heh. Apart from two wins this year.

True, but since 2006, he hasn't even

looked like making a dent in any of the Majors. I'm just wondering whether this whole "Now Tiger isn't in the field - one of the 'Best-Player-Never-To-Have-Won-A-Major' can step up" is just a moot point. The other guy in often named within this statement, Sergio Garcia - at least he's shown he can actually make it to the final pairing in a Major...

I agree, he just doesn't seem like he has the right mindset to be competitive in the majors right now. I feel like he could do so much better if he applied the same focus towards the majors as other players like Sergio.

He was also injured for a good bit of this year as well. Missed The Memorial, played the U.S. Open hurt, and didn't play again until the British.

And during the British open he had the flu. But seriously, his putting is actually not that bad and he makes great putts but he just happens to have clusterfutsers(brain melts) and make silly decisions on the course. Take the US Open. Didn't he 3 putt from 3 feet after trying to tap in his second?

His posture disturbs me, specifically his rounded upper back to neck area. It looks like he's forcing himself to keep the chin high. It looks too contrived and restricted. I'm gonna call Butch.

Seriously though...he was hurt during the prime part of the season. He'll be back next year.

Yes, can't remember the hole number. But it was a par5 and he was in a front greenside bunker having played 2. It was embarassing to watch and I can't imagine what it must have felt like to actually do it in front of those crowds.

So what's up with Scotty?
Anyone know if his wrist-injury was worse than it seemed at the time?
Since the PGA Championship in August he's gone: CUT, CUT, T73, T50 then... silence .

Or now that summer is approaching in Oz, has he gone back to surfing?

There sure are a lot of golf guru's in this thread. I wonder why more of you aren't professionals yourselves, or at least coaches to tour pros. It's amazing the knowledge you all have on the inner workings of the tour and it's players.
