Just an observation: he sounds very affeminate in the Titleist advert.

He is too distracted with the riches that golf has now brought him. His game seems wooden to me and his tries to mimmic TW too much.

I said this a couple of pages ago, and everyone jumped all over me! Give a young guy fame, tens of millions of dollars, big houses, fancy cars, and attention from fine ladies. Don't you think it's possible to lose focus?

I think every pro athlete, after achieving all of the above (fame, money, women), have to ask themselves " Exactly WHY am I practicing 12 hours a day? I have already achieved everything I dreamed about. " If you don't have a good answer to that question, you will not continue to succeed.

He's won a players championship, the tour championship, and about 15 other tournaments worldwide. That only is a "pretty solid" career for most every golfer on tour. He climbed to number 3 in the world rankings a year ago. Its pretty hard to call him overrated. Not to mention he is like all of 28 years old or something around there. In the last year alone ( from usopen to usopen) he went through a rough breakup (apparently), a broken finger, and a dislocated knee. If he doesn't produce anything else by the time he is 35 call him slightly overrated. But like I said he is only 28 and most golfers on tour would dream of having the career adam scott already has.

I think he is a solid player who right now is going through a rough patch with his game. That is golf. I commented before he and Sergio are alot alike. Both showed a bit more of their talent at the Open this past week but still have a long way to go. If they follow in Mickelson's path, they won't start winning majors for another 5 yrs. I hope that is not the case.

How is Sergio overrated? He is a great ballstriker, everyone knows he can't really putt, especially when the pressure is on. What other flaws are in his game? I'll take Sergio's career over Adam Scott's so far any day of the week. Sergio has been there so many times with a shot at winning and has just been a lipped-out putt away from winning a major.

It's pretty obvious to me Scott can't putt either which is why you don't see him around the leaderboard or contending very often. They can all hit it. Adam can hit it with anyone out there. But his short game, most specifically his putting is not a strength of his game, and to be successful on tour it MUST be the strength of your game. I don't know many guys on the Tour who can't putt and win tournaments, let alone even contend in majors.

True.

I think a lot of players are content to having all of that which comes with winning tournaments and majors.... without actually winning many tournaments or Majors!

As much as I'd like to agree that he's over-rated (his ballstriking isn't anywhere near as good as a lot of people seem to think), this thread's about Adam Scott, not Sergio Garcia. Let's get back to that if we can.

It was good to see that he perform "well" this US Open, I like a lot his swing, I hope he can recover his swing and show his real potencial.

Cheers!

He's in second place right now in Loch Lomond, and apparently Ana Ivanovic is there with him. Nice rebound!

Hilarious! Earlier in this thread I said he had lost focus from chasin' tail, and everyone jumped all over me.

Apparently he was chasing some high-quality tennis talent. Now that he's caught it, maybe he can focus more on golf! Unless she's high maintenance...

Young and handsome male-model types in their physical prime don't lose focus and chase tail. I mean, come on dude.

I'm watching the Scottish Open right now on the Golf Channel. Their coverage of Adam consists of him taking a shot, then followed immediately of a shot of Ana walking.

    • On my trip at Bandon. I have a couple of best shots come to mind. I had kind of a stupidly good short game shot out of some nasty stuff. I didn't really make any bombs putting.  I could say any drive I hit straight that was hitting directly into the wind, lol. That was nasty. I literally hit a ball like 150 yards right. I am going with my drive on hole 18 at Old MacDonald. 469 yard par 4, down wind. The narrowest fairway on the course, and you have to navigate two sets of bunkers. I stripe one down the middle, catch the slope and have to roll out to about 95 yards to the pin. So yea, that 370-ish drive in the fairway on a 469 par 4 wins the shot of the week.
    • Day 2: mirror work while watching some TV. Checking on some backswing stuff primarily - making sure I’m still steep enough in the backswing.
    • Day 88 (28 Jul 25) - Short session this afternoon after a full day of yard work at the house.  Worked on setup and tempo thru the shot with the 52° wedge in the backyard.  Hit about 20 balls total - just staying focused on the process.
    • Day 10: More putting with the metronome. Short putts feel really slow and long putts feel really fast. Getting more comfortable every day.
    • Day 301 - 2025-07-28 Watched a lot of golf today at Fox Chapel, but then came home and did some mirror work. Re-dedicated. Which is saying something, as I've been playing okay. But relying on my athleticism to just do "okay."
