which one is better Odyssey White Hot XG #7 or the Odyssey sabertooth

I definitely agree with The Birdieman. Get which ever one gives you the most confidence, and helps you drain the most putts.

I have the 7, and i strongly recommend it to you. I've only tried the sabretooth (or as my friends call it... the BAT Putter as it looks like something from Batman's arsenal) in showrooms- good feel but can't have a verdict on itwithout trying it on the greens.

ok great I bought a white hot #7 I used one of my friends and I loved it so I bought one. I just wanted to hear what everyone else thought about them.

I like the #7 A LOT more than the sabertooth. But that's just personal preferance, I can't look at it and feel comfortable.

I've been using the #7 for about a month and love it!


One more thing....I replaced the grip with a Wynn's AVS oversize grip and it feels even better. It's not as large as the one KJ Choi uses, and really has a great feel.

My son uses the WH XG7 and loves it... he plays off a +1.6.
I use the Sabertooth and think it's fantastic.

Spend some time with both and see which one you have the "feel" for.

Honestly, seems like the Sabertooth attracts the higher handicapped players looking for a mallet that looks cool. I have tried it out, and yes it does feel balanced and look interesting, but I don't see myself liking it out on the course. IMO it would get old quickly and I would go with the #7.

Anyone else have trouble getting a good feel with the white hot faces? I loved it on the showroom and bought one at the beginning of the season - have never putted worse though. I've had one or two rounds where I'll drain putts from all over but for the most part it's been a nightmare on the greens. Going to take my XG #2 out of the bag this weekend.

I just tried a bunch of putters at two stores and that included the #7 and Sabertooth. Both are excellent and I honestly could not say one is better then the other. And they both pick the balls up nicely off the green!!

I still like my Rossa Spider but these are very close. And these three (Spider, #7 and Sabertooth) seemed far better then everything else.

But it's all personal opinion when it comes to golf clubs - try them all out, pick what you prefer the feel of.

      Code of Conduct Not Entered as Local Rule - Still Valid?

      Rule 1.2b refers you to a section in the Committee Procedures (Section 5I) that helps explain what a Code of Conduct may (and may not) do.  Defining acceptable behavior (including smoking) and applying Stroke of DQ penalties are certainly within the Committee's authority. That Code of Conduct certainly should be available, either in written form or in a webpage accessible to all.  It may not show up on the "standard local rules" for an organization, the "hard card", as it sounds like its a policy of this particular golf course. Assuming that's the case it should show up on the Notice to Players for this particular event.  If you can't find it, ask someone, send an email, try to find out.   In summary, yes the Committee can DQ (or withdraw) a Player for smoking, even before or between rounds.  But its up to you to go from there, communication is the key here.

      Hmm... I not sure I completely understand. If the course has a no smoking policy, then he shouldn't smoke at the course.  I'm assuming since you are aware of the policy, it must be written down somewhere.  As far as getting disqualified from the tournament, I would think that would be up to the committee. But it feels like it is within their power to disqualify, so why take the chance?
