Well i think ive seen this before but can't find it. So how often do you get to play? I don't get to play that much considering i have school and everything else.

Its not always how you drive the ball, but how it arrives.

When I had a membership back in the UK I'd go and play four, five, maybe even six times a week during the summer and easter holidays.

My problem was I was at a boarding school with activities taking up six full days a week, and sometimes Sunday too. During term time I didn't often have time to go and play so it really was feast or famine!

Now I'm getting back into the game I'd like to play at least once a week, and go down the range once a week too...

Last year, (2007) I played 184 rounds.
Today, I played my 119th this year.
I refuse to play in the cold, 'cause I'm so old cold hurts.
When the weather is okay, I play every day. ( I don't do cold or wet)
My hope is to average playing every other day. I did it last year, and this year is on track. I need 74 more this year to hit 183. I guess I need 11 more weeks of good weather. I just hope I don't have to go out in December at 32 degrees to make it.

My first year of golf.... this summer I've managed to play 9 holes once a week, with the occassional 2nd time a week.

Not a lot of golf, though, when you only play 9 holes.

I live in Florida and I play everyday. Somedays I play 9 and sometime I play 27 to 36 holes. I am a nurse so I only work three days a week. I have not played in the last two days with Fay hitting us hard. I hope she is gone soon so I can back out. Going crazy in the house all day.

In the summer I got out 3-4 times a week. Now with school having started I'll prolly get out around twice a week.

Things I Am Good at in Golf

- Hitting it in the drink
- Finding the rough with my drive
- Staying in the bunker- Hitting grassburners all the way to the hole- Three putting- Posting over par on 18 in only 9 holes- Swinging and missing with an iron

This year has been a tough year for me, and I average playing twice a month, whereas I usually play 8-10 times a month. I lost two months of the season, June and July, due to sickness and an injury to my right arm. However, I have worked hard the last three weeks to get my game back. Now I am scoring normally----72 to 77, and am striking the ball fairly well. Almost every day, I do practice in the yard or at a practice area at a local municipal course, where I do not have to pay for that privilege. It really does pay to practice on a regular basis. Also, I work hard on my putting and short game.

I play once a week. Im probably going to start playing par-3 courses all the time though so that I can afford to play more often.
Theres a real nice par-3 course about 5 miles away from where I work and Im thinking I might start playing that course once a week. It would be nothing to throw my golf gear in the truck and just go straight from work to the course.
I practice at least 30 minutes a day though.

I went on an official GHIN handicap card, and posted my first score on May 2cd. Last weekend, 15 weeks later, I had my 20th round in. I also played like 3 practice rounds in there so thats right at 27 holes a week.

Due to my work commitment, I'm only able to play once in a month. Twice if I got lucky. I wish I could play more often. :(

    • I have an update… I don't have much of a response, because the fact that they would ADD the numbers for the lead and trail shoulder together… I mean, wow. I was giving them too much credit. Nobody would think to assume they were doing THAT. That's beyond comical. One of the biomechanists I talked to put it this way: "So if I squatted down and went from 180 to 90 deg knee angle, then I would say 180 deg range of motion because I have two knees?" I'd type more (maybe), but honestly, I'm laughing a bit too hard. 🤣 Update: Mini Manavian blocked me on Instagram, so I cannot see his post showing Bryson with about 50° of range of motion (with a driver) from P4 to P7, and 75° only if you go out to the mid-follow-through. What a terrible loss for me. 😉
    • Thanks, interesting to read. The swing is definitely very timing dependent. I hit it consistently I guess but consistently bad.
    • I've shot 91-74 on the same day before. Couple of years ago played a two round tournament on Bethpage Black. I shot 72 in the first round and 90 in the second. First round I played very well. Second round I played okay, but had about 5 shots that hit the lips of bunkers and bounced down into them. A couple of those wound up in footprints - I was unamused - and I failed to get them out. Anyway - lots of bunkers and my bunker play isn't great and then add a couple of footprints and me getting pretty tired and it added up to a lot.  Only you can really tell though what's causing the variance. It might be that your swing is very timing dependent and when it's timed well you play well and when it's not then it goes all over the place. In that case, some lessons and working on your swing could be the key. If it's more that you tend to feel like you hit it fairly consistently, but you have days where the shots come off and days where they don't, then that's more likely a course management issue. If that's what you need to work on, then you could read Lowest Score Wins and build a plan of attack based on that.  Rest assured though that a pretty big range from high to low is fairly common. Even PGA Tour players often have 18-20 shot spreads from best to worst rounds in a season. It's a common affliction among golfers.
