Mizuno irons: MX-19 vs MX-25 vs MX-900

So, lately Ive been looking on iron sets on Ebay a lot. Im looking for a set of Mizuno irons that are a little bit more forgiving than my Titleist DCI 981s.
So, what are the key differences from the MX-19, MX-25 and MX-900.
From what I can tell, the 19s are cast, whereas the 25s are forged and the 900s have hybrids that replace the 3 and 4 irons. Are there any other differences?
Also, if it were you and you were a high-handicapper like I am, which would you buy?

Mx-19 is for a high handicap
Mx-25's are for a mid-low landicap
and the mx-900's are for a high handicap with some hybrids.

I've hit the Mx-19s and the 25's, but not the mx-900's. The 19's are amazing and so are the 25's. The 19's are alot more bulkier and thick and are SO incredibly easy to hit. They go FAR too. I hit them farther than i hit my nickents and they have upped lofts. The mx-25's were very similiar to my nickents but they did feel great. Not hard to hit at all and very beautiful.

High handicap id get the 19's, but if youre confident the 25's are better.

The MX 25s and MX 900s are forged wheras the MX-19s are cast.

The 25 and 19s have undercut cavities whereas the 900s have a hollow body in the longer irons and solid body in the 8-PW. I had a similar decision but opted for the 900s since the cost was a lot less at the time (the 950s came out so the 900s dropped in price by 1/2). I don't have much feel for differences but the 25s did have a nicer feel. However, in the end you need to hit them and see what works for you.

MX900s don't have hybrids - not typical rescue-type hybrids. The 3-7 irons are hollow, but they look like typical SGI irons. The newer MX950s do have hybrids replacing the 3 and 4 irons. I tried 25s and 900s and bought the 900s because they just felt better to me (didn't try 19s). After using them for a while now, I love them. They feel great when you hit them pure. And they are forgiving but at the same time you will know when you it them off center. I don't see myself buying new irons for a long time.

I think hybrid is a misnomer for the MX-900s. Macgregor Mactec NVG2 irons are also hollow but are not called hybrids.

Hybrids=hywoods=rescue club=rescue wood= bunch of smoke. It gets so confusing for the general consumer.

I looked hard at the MX-25s. They felt very good. I ended up going with the Ping G10s, but it was close. I don't think you'd be disappointed.

In the MX-900, Id say the "hybrids" are more the wood-like hybrids. You could almost call the 3 and 4 in that set fariway woods (but theyd probably have to be something like a 15 and 18-wood.

Not sure if Id be happy with a set of MPs. My Titleists are pretty much a player's cavity-back and I hit them well when Im relaxed and swinging the club well, but if Im even a little bit off it gets pretty scary.

Im probably going to keep an eye out on Ebay for a set of MX-19s, MX-23s or MX-25s.

ive got the mx-25's, cant say a bad thing about them. mizuno is coming out with 4 new iron sets soon, the mp-52&62's(better players) and the mx-100 and mx-200( game-improvement). i love the forged feel of the mx-25, i traded from a set of titleist DCI golds, and the feel was night and day.

Got fitted about a month ago, and hit many different irons. The MX-25 was the top producer for me, and felt the best. Then, I scored a great deal on eBay for 4-SW graphite stiff set. These have helped tremendously, along with a lot of practice.

I'm very happy with my choice, and you should do the same - get fitted, and hit as many as possible to find your best set.

Well, I paid $160 for them. However, I bought them from 3Balls and the listing claimed they were in, "very good" condition, so I expect they will look pretty much like new clubs. Ive dealth with 3Balls before and I find that they actually rate the clubs they sell as being worse than they really are. I recently bought an MP Fli Hi 24* from 3Balls which they rated as used and the sole of that club is like a mirror, so if it is used, it hasnt been used much.
I put bids in on several sets of MX-19s and MX-25s and none of them went for under $250, so I dont feel too bad about what I paid for my MX-15s.
I mean, a new set of MX-19s is almost $600 and I guess that $160 isnt too bad.

hiya, i have a variety of clubs (about 14 sets) like prosimmon peter senior cavity blades - nice + hallmark forged blades - 40 year old hand tinglers, status be-cu perimeter weighted (nice) + stainless version, taylormade tp td blades - nice, slazenger californian blades + xl 4's - good but don't miss hit them, lynx masters (cat logo) - nice, maruman mst 31's - lovely "feather" blades (great score!) mizuno tzoid pro - nice + zoid ti's - nicer + astrons and mx 900's, (ok so i'm a little out there :) wot golfer isn't ?)

the mx 900's are really nice to hit, you have to be patient to find your line with them as a fast swing may produce a hook with the 3 - 4 - 5 irons, sort of half hybridish but they can give you good and easy distance with a high ball flight and soft landing, the 6 - 7 irons are smaller versions of the longer irons and just as nice to hit, the 8 - 9 - pw are more cavity blade type and are great to use (such a pity there is not a full set of that design) the clubs are touted as game improvements and are a progressive set with a nice sweet spot, the longer irons can be hard to shape and they seem a little fat/chunky to the eye but you get used to that.

i haven't played a round with the other mx clubs but have had a hit, the mx 900's feel and sound good (better for me), they would be my choice. but as with any club head, shaft options produce differing results, mx 900's are forged and feel quite soft but you would be best to have a hit with each type you like, do not rely on window "shopping" to find out where your "comfort" level sits, some channel backs can sound tinny and can seem to have less feel, cast sounds and feels different to forged, so take your time to suss it out for you, the little collection i have bears testament to this, hard steel - soft steel - cast stainless - forged - be-cu, all feel and sound different, get some direction from others but find out for yourself, you will lessen any disappointment that way, once you decide, get custom fitted if you can then be patient and find your feel for them, taking atleast 4 - 6 months...hope that helps...
