i seem to agree with the majority of the replies in this thread.

i think its fine to show emotion (and pump up the crowd) after each hole and NOT between shots. It would be quite humbling to hit an amazing approach 2 foot from the hole, pump the crowd up and then to 2 putt to a par.

i think golf will always walk a fine line between reserved-tradition/Etiquette and new-wave emotion.

the ryder cup is like no other sporting event, let alone a golf tourney, and should be treated different.
