I apologize in advance if this has been previously answered;

I understand that photo attachments are frowned upon, is there a preferred way to embed or link to photos in threads or should photos only be exchanged via PM or email?

Use the [img]http://server.com/path/to/your/image.jpg[/img] tags. Host the images elsewhere on your own server or any of the (many) free services out there.

Post as many as you want that way. I prefer people do that over sticking them in the database because they take up a fair amount of room in the database. But attachments are only truly "banned" or blocked (actually moderated) in the Marketplace.

If you find an image elsewhere, just include it with the img tags as above. If it vanishes in two weeks, the conversation will likely have already moved on past that post anyway.
