How long was your longest round??

OMG, today, it took me 5.5 hours to play my local muni course. why o why can't i afford a country club membership? :(

One weekend on a notoriously slow muni I think it took 6.5 hours. I play that course now midweek, midday, just to get off at a decent hour.

5 hours up to the 14th when we called it a day.The course had been set up for a PGA event and the rough had been allowed to grow.When you stood on the tee at the 8th which is the highest part of the course all you could see was weekend hackers rummiging through the rough looking for their lost balls.

5-1/2 yesterday, quit on the 17th because we couldn't see anything. Though one of the gals that was in my group was sloooooow .

that image made me chuckle - i didnt lol! i played in portugal and there was a fourball with the pro getting a lesson all the way around the course - got let through at the turn but the first nine took over 3 hours 30 mins!!! second 9 around 90mins - i recall one guy getting what i added up to be a 20 something (cant quite remember) but 20 something on 140yard par 3! k

Lol, 20 something on a par 3? At that point you might as well take the putter and putt it the whole way, im pretty sure you can make it in 10-15 shots.

6 hours yesterday, we were stuck behind an outing. Oh dear god it was frustrating.

8 hours. Played in a storm at Bandon Dunes, and got pulled off the course due to lightning. Got back out to finish, but it was 8 hours all told.

Over 6 hrs when the American Golf run course "accidentally" over booked the number of tee times on Labor Day. When I asked how that could happen since it's all run on the computer all I got was a blank stare. Pure greed.....

I play in a charity 4 person best shot every year. The last couple of years have averaged about 5 hours due to a rule change (they added an OB line on every hole). Before that rule change 18 holes would easily take 8-9 hours due to people trying to play low percentage shots down the wrong fairways which would just get them in trouble, balls started bouncing around in the trees, getting lost, etc...

College Div 1 tournament two years ago... 6 1/2 hours. Everyone thought they were pros and took so long it was painful... Ouch!

5 hours at a local EXECUTIVE course. We were behind four guys in carts who thought they played on the PGA. They were unbelieveably slow. We finally just skipped a hole so that we could get by them. After the front nine I really had no desire to even play anymore they were so damn slow.

I got one for ya from just last weekend....bout 5 1/2 hours. We were behind this outing of like 7 guys and they looked like they were brand new to the game. To top it off, they had the audacity to lump up all together for a few holes until the ranger finally opened his mouth

7.5 hrs on a muni course. Tournament ahead of us - best ball scramble format with some really new golfers, extreme amounts of alcohol, and no course marshals. On more than one hole I watched the "team" take 8-10 swings EACH trying to hit the ball and then laughing their heads off when all they caught was air followed by a quick sip of the current beverage and another set of swing attempts.

At first we got frustrated, but after a while it became almost like watching a comedy show - it was that bad. We decided to tough it out just so that someday, when someone asked how long was your longest round, we'd have a ready answer.

Just over 6 hours twice. First time was at South Carolina National in the Myrtle Beach area. My dad and I were stuck behind countless foursomes who seemingly were just there to check out the foilage. I was shooting the round of my life (-4) until the 13th hole (go figure) when the group ahead of us inexplicably waited for over 15 minutes in the middle of the fairway to hit to an open green. Pulled my drive in the water, lost my rhythm, and ended up with a 73.

The longest golf hole I ever played was 47 minutes. I was behind a husband-wife twosome, playing in a cart, on a hole that only allowed you to drive on the cartpath. The woman's drive went about 20 feet. She walked back to the cart, drove up 20 feet, got a club, walked back to the ball, hit it 10 feet. Walked back to the cart, drove forward 10 feet, got a club, walked back. Now imagine this repeating on a 395 yard par 4. Normally I would have skipped ahead, but I knew I was approaching some sort of record and waited it out. They let me play through on the next hole.

You have to love when times are tough and course management is too afraid to piss off anyone. Its coming close to time to join a more upscale club.

Longest 18 - 6 hours - public course where I know no one and thought I would be able to sneak in and out only to find that they dont not pair up twosomes during peak hours.

At my current home course - got through 10 when I realized it had already taken 4 hours - with no ranger around to do anything about it. Needless to say I had to leave - waiting around that long does nothing good to your mindset while trying to play.
