I think size matters here. Your name stitched small is fine. Getting a staff bag - with or without your name - is probably a bit tacky.

I have a staff bag, one of this year's Titleists, in my office with my name on it. It never leaves the office and it holds about 15 putters and wedges and other clubs. If I had a carry or cart bag with my name stitched on it small, that wouldn't be bad.
My location is Australia as I've frequently mentioned in my posts. I'm not sure why that is no longer under my avatar.

Because you removed it from your profile. I've added it back in for you.

I do not have a "distaste" for American culture at all.

Maybe you don't, but you clearly have a warped view of the way things are over here. And this coming from someone who would scratch up someone's car just because they're ostentatious enough to drive it somewhere and park?

I have a serious distaste for a lot of personal characteristics of people form all nations especially when it comes to ostentation (golf related)and displays of wealth in locations where many people are not similarly advantaged. (not golf related)

And this has to do with the original topic how? Stop posting - it's clear you've got little to offer on this topic.

You, like a lot of others here, need to read my posts a bit more carefuly. I did not say that I did this. It was used as example of how there are differences. I totally disagree with it.

The point about ostentation related to the name on a bag. The OP wanted to know what others thought.

You implied that you saw little wrong with the idea of scratching someone's expensive car because they had the gall to drive it and park it somewhere. To say otherwise is to show that it's you who needs to read your own posts more closely - preferably before you actually post them.

Now, and because I'm the admin, you shall post no more in this thread. You've done enough to tank it already.

I have my name embroidered on the ball pocket of my Ping Hoofer bag. Ping does an excellent job personalizing their bags. I like having my name on my bag, although I agree with what Erik stated and I think any amateur with their name emblazoned on a gigantic staff bag maybe should get themselves under control.

Wow, I must be a tool then. When I had to special order my Ping hoofer I got a call from the shop where I ordered it and they let me know that Ping could put my name on the left shoulder strap for free so I went for it. The responses I've gotten have been positive, none negative.

Like I said - it's one of those cultural things!

Sorry to cause all the anger guys, Lefty didn't know you were in Australia, thought you were in the US, which I think explains the tone of my original post. I see where you are coming from....... Nate

    • Day 120 - Played 18; much better than yesterday. Miss right now is off the heel of the club, so I need to sort that out.
    • Today we played Pease Golf Course in Portsmouth, NH. Course was in great shape but my game didn't show up. I will say I pitched and chipped fairly well but almost everything else was very hit or miss. Cost myself a lot hitting an in play drive with pulling my approach shots maybe 85% of the time. Finally figured out I had been swaying most of the round. Only took me until 13 to figure it out. Used what felt like a much more centered turn and the ballstriking improved. 18 tomorrow using a 2 man scramble format. Just looking to contribute. Been a blast though.
    • Day 22: Hit balls with 7-iron using mevo+ to track dispersion. Was out for a long time after work; 86 balls but the first 50+ were 50% swings focusing on top of backswing feel and then just hitting the ball as a psychic reward. Finished with 20 balls close to full speed. Pretty happy with dispersion and also no horrendous misses. I’m chunking my priority piece out into two separate feels, first and more important is the position/balance at top of backswing which is what I was working on. Once I have that engrained I’ll move to transition part.
    • FWIW I never really had issues with the previous generation of Snells. But… I'm not sure I played them a ton, either.
    • I know Dean Snell designed the original Pro V along with a couple of other brands tour balls.  How exactly does the Snell ball have problems.  Did he change something in the design or is a manufacturing error since he cannot afford the unlimited R&D budgets of the big manufacturers to iron out flaws
