How many of you guys carry and use a 7 wood, thinking about maybe buying one.Used one the other day on some of the longer par 3's with great success.

My dad has a TaylorMade 7-wood (a 220 model I believe), and I always use it when we play. I can hit it about the same distance as a 2-iron, but the ball flight with it is much higher. So it's great for getting to the green on a long par-3 or getting home in 2 on a par-5 and not having the ball scoot across the green.

In the bag:
Ping G5 Driver 9 degree, Ping G10 3-wood, Nike 3 hybrid, TaylorMade R9 Irons 4-AW, Cleveland CG15 56 and 60 degree wedges, Odyssey 2-ball blade putter

If you can get over the golf nonsense that you suck if you carry a 7 wood and take all the ribbing from your buddies, I think a 7 wood is a wonderful club. I added one to my bag and use it on occasion. Occasion, because some days I it well but other days I hit the 20 degree hybrid better. I think the 7 wood is great because it has so much use as a utility club for punch outs, chips, even long putts, bad lies, hardpan and players who sweep the ball should hit it well consistently.

I just bought a shiny new 7 wood the other day, it's replacing my 4i which I hit poorly anyway.

I have one but don't always carry it - depends on the course.

Never liked them. Too many other clubs will hit the same distance without the downside of the super high trajectory. That just causes problems for me when there's any wind at all... the least breeze can have a significant effect on a ball hit so high. I use my 4 hybrid for about the same distance, but it has a more controllable trajectory.

I'm waiting for my new one to arrive some time next week.

I wanted something to give me a nice high trajectory shot from 200 yards or so.

So far the 4 wood is working out well, too.

I may also add a 4 hybrid to the bag at some point in the future.

My 4W is my favorite club. I'd be lost without it.
