i would rather lose my golf clubs

I am with ganjagolfer, at least in spirit. I think that the point is that the tool is functional but kind of lame.

My divot tool has a small indent at the top, made to rest the handle of the club on so it won't get wet, dirty, etc. This works just fine for me.

I just put my clubs right back in the bag when I am done with them.

I'm pretty sure most of us do. This is for greenside action when you have a couple clubs out. . .the ground may be wet, or you may simply have a bad back. This is to keep you from bending over all of time and to keep your clubs/grips dry.

You sure about that?

am sure than carry that clothes pin although our greenskeeper uses organic bio-solids for fertilizer which is quite odorific and so maybe that clothes pin would be put on my nose

My pocket already has: ball markers, tees, golf balls, and a divot repair tool.

You don't put it in your pocket. C'mon. You clip it to your bag.

Ya, I would never buy a 20 dollar clothes pin but see how it could be useful for someone with back problems. Kind of like those little suction things that go on the ends up putters that old men use.

I have one and use it regularly. People will often borrow it if I'm not using it on a hole. Great way to keep your grip dry. I'm not one to forget my clubs on the green, but for those who do it should help with that problem as well.

If it works for people with bad backs or those who want to keep their grips dry that is great.

My back is in good shape (knock on wood) and I live in the desert so wet conditions rarely exist. I wouldn't buy one but I surely wouldn't criticize someone who does.

Maybe I'm daft, but honestly, my first impression was to wonder what the hell it was.

I guess I'm a minimalist when it comes to golf gadgets, but definitely some guys can't get enough of 'em.

My advice: it you open an eBay store, don't let it be one of the primary things you are trying to sell.

Just received one from my wife for my birthday. Saw the product on TGC last year but didn't pay much attention to it. Didn't seem to be something I would buy.

I have used my Club Caddy every round since I got it. Clips to your bag, not something you would want to try to put in in your pocket. Definately prefer to use the Club Caddy instead of trying to balance a club on a tee or divot repair tool. Much quicker to clip this onto your club than to have to dig somthing out of your pocket, bend over to place a tee or divot repair tool in the gound, balance the club grip on it, stand up, go to your ball......

While it's not something I would have bought for myself I will purchase some for others. Beats a bad golf gag gift at Christmas, another horrid necktie, or a sweater that will never be worn.

Will make a great stocking stuffer or would be a terrific secret Santa gift where there is $20.00 or less maximum cost of gift for a golfer.

I use my divot repair tool to elevate the grip, then lay other grips on top of the base on as needed. A tee would be fine, but I don't always have a tee on the green.

It's not that it's a bad idea or bad product. I don't even really think it's too expensive (although I do think $10 would sell a lot more of them than the $20 it currently costs). With that said, I think I prefer my towel just because it has lots more uses. The one I carry has a waterproof side and a 'pocket' to put your grips in when carrying them (as from cart to ball) on rainy days or laying them on ground on rainy day. The only downside to the towell solution is that the shafts still get wet, but that's minor since it doesn't affect playing anyway. The other benefit of the Club Caddy helping you not to forget your club is something I can see, although my towel is bright red and I usually lay it on the putting surface, so it's hard to miss.

When this won on the show "Fore Inventors Only" I was really surpised because I thought it was the least 'inventive' of the products. I thought Club Glider should have won. Some have suggested this one won because it's cheap and simple and golfers often have hard time going to golf store and NOT buying cheap gadgets.

Actually I would never have considered purchasing this myself, but. My wife's grandmother gave my one on my last birthday. I use it at least twice a round at my regular course. There are two par 3s that are over water(I rarely hit the green) and while walking to the green you pass the next tee. I carry, so instead of carrying my bag all the way to the green and then back, I grab wedge, putter, and club caddy, and leave my bag at the tee. I usually play in the early mornings and this keeps my clubs for getting waterlogged with dew. Like I said, I would never have purchased it myself, but it has it's uses.
